i guess if the worst comes to the worst i can sell my manifold onto one of the clio boys then buy a cheap ebay twin carb manifold and cut the standard clio manifold and weld the carb side straight to it.

Hopefully though, having looked at pics of the one i'm waiting for it might be straight 8 ...

I'll definately keep this in mind when fitting.

you will need to mod the inlet manifold as in the volvo the engine sits up rite and not layed back so the carbs wont work.

Is this due to clearence? it looked like there was tons of rooms from the pics of 340s i've seen running bike carbs and twin carbs :?

I did do a bit of a search on here about the engine swap and seriously thought about keeping it injection but really the cars just a second car/toy and i've always fancied the idea of a fuel guzzling, snorting twin carb monster lol :D

I'm going to fit the clio engine to my 340 soon and am going to use twin carbs but want a basic ignition system to run the car whilst i save for a decent system.


I'm thinking of using the standard volvo ignition system for a short time mated to the clio dizzy, i know it's not going to be great ...

I know a few of you on here can and have done this conversion and was wondering how much someone would want to do the conversion on my car?

Was wanting to literally drop the car off, have everything done then pick it up and drive off home.

I do have an engine, loom, ecu etc here but i don't ...

The bottom of the door is hitting the sill, you have to lift the door and shut at the same time.
Has already worn the paint off almost back to the metal on the top of the sill.

So i guess the best thing to do is to remove the pins and check for wear? you can actually wobble the door up and down ...

I've always been a fan of clean lines with no body kit, trim etc and the 300 series pulls it of nicely

oh... i don't really know, haven't had time to check i just thought it'd be a case of complete new hinges, never thought they might come in parts
