Volvo 162C M3

If you are wondering the title "what the heck.." the 162C M3 is the newest build from probably one of the best Volvo builders I know of, Rami Rantanen (alias "Kulmamies") from Finland http://www.vrcf.fi/foorumi/index.php?topic=67310.0 It's an E36 M3 body combined with a Volvo 164.. :-Everyhing is fa...

Re: Fuse's 360GLT

Thank you macplaxton! I fixed the dead link. Everything is in line within 0,5mm (measured, which is pretty well considering the fact that there was no inner sill structure intact before and the whole floor was rusted apart from the sills). :-P We didn't cut out the top section of the inner sill rein...

Re: Fuse's 360GLT

There's progress. sm4 I headed to my friend's place for few days and we did some work on the car. First step was to roll the car out from the barn. It had collected a bit of dust during the winter. https://scontent-fra3-1.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-xtf1/v/t1.0-9/11700867_10153507765572710_674488726...

Re: Fuse's 360GLT

Hello! Still alive and I do have the GLT also. :D I haven't had too much time to work with cars in past couple years, it's been quite hectic at the work etc... but now things have settled a bit so I do have time to work with cars again! :-P I did try to get the car through MOT two years ago when tho...

Re: Starter motor differences B19 / B200

Starters between B19 and B200 are interchangable. B200 ones are smaller because those are geared so the motor doesn't have to be as powerfull and large. B19 ones are direct drive so the motor has to be more powerfull to turn the engine.

Re: Builders?

Update here also. :-P I've been quite busy with my work but I did have some time to visit the summer house also at this summer. And I did build an actual tool shed this time! :D It still needs some work like a door and such but the main frame is up. The reason I'm building a new toolshed is because ...

Re: Fuse's 360GLT

Finished the polishing and waxing about a week ago. http://koti.kapsi.fi/fuse/images/autot/GLT/Bodywork/polish/1.jpg The chroming on the plastic 360GLT badge was faded and flaked so I went over the badge with a polishing machine also. :D Much better than the faded chrome. :-P http://koti.kapsi.fi/fu...

Re: Parts availability

Pilkington does windscreens for 300-series, I bought one at last year. :-P

For the Finnish members, this place also does custom windscreens for any vehicle. http://www.kuttilanautolasi.syhi.fi/

Re: Sunny Day In Belfast

I've been having the last remaining vacation days of the last year because those would've expired soon and I still have all of the 30 days of this years vacation days to keep... Maybe I can fit in one or two vacation weeks at the end of the summer. :-P I've been at the summer house @ Iisalmi for the...

https://fbcdn-sphotos-g-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/484959_491399170900016_7845517_n.jpg I think I've just seen my favourite picture ever. Ford did similar with their Advanced Vehicles Operation, building anything from the hot road rally stuff through to really silly things. Every company should...

Re: Genuine R-sport kit

Though Volvo did have it's own competition department in Gothenburg (and still does, with a different name and less visibility for "normal" customers though as it did in the Golden ERA of the Volvo motorsport). Found in 1959 and named as Volvo Motorsport division, at 1962 name was changed to Volvo C...

300-series is easy. 200-series on the other hand... The whole car is designed around the heater box. :D

Re: turbo 200e using B19 parts???

Easily. Later B2x0 internals handle about ~400hp safely. :-P Even the weaker con rods, which are most likely in all 300-series b200 engines, handle about ~250hp max. It's all about the tuning. Fueling and ignition that is. Even the pre -87 B200E in 300-series has also the lower 9:1 compression ratio...

Re: turbo 200e using B19 parts???

True! Take B21 or B23 if available, more displacement is always better. :-P Though B23A has a compression ratio of 10,3:1.

B21A has either 8,5:1 (on early models) or 9,1:1.
