I think you are right on both counts.

I am not aware of any 1.4 litre 340 cars here in Australia only the 360 .

I have a M47R 5 speed transaxle with 3.64:1 differential gears.

I am looking for a 3.82:1 gear set (new or second hand) to fit my diff housing. According to the manual my diff housing is a MT5 type housing.

As the subject title suggests , I am looking for a new or good second-hand 1st gear for a 360GLT transaxle together with the synchro hub.

This gear has 34 teeth and incorporates a bush configuration rather than a bearing.

Before I start throwing too much solvent etc about I am curious to know what the little rectangle shaped orifice is on the side of the overdrive housing. Hi folks . Its been a few years since I originally posted here. I can say that the car is now done and I have been running in the local hillclimb over the last year . The transmission has been fine however the ratios are a bit wide. I think I will go to a 14" rim with a 60 series tyre to compensate....

What Oil is used in this transaxle? I drained mine the other day and it appears to be red like auto trans fluid.

Also is this same oil used in the diff or do they use different oils. Still learning about these units.

I like using Castrol so does any one have the spec for this.

Thanks for the advice. It seems to me a simple case of pressing on and exercising due respect for the diff and the combination should work reasonably well.
