1.7 Distributor cap removal

Apoligies if this has been covered before but I can't seem to find it. I have a screw on dizzy cap on my 1.7 and am wondering how on earth to remove it to clean inside and check the condition. A "normal" length or even a stubby screwdriver is too long as the bulkhead is in the way. Do I need a speci...

Insurance advice please

Hi, can anyone advise me on where to try for insurance on my 1989 340DL. My renewal from CIS is quite astounding at £200.00 (that includes breakdown cover though) for fully comp cover. I was very tempted by a 240 saloon, but due to the current rip off petrol prices, I've had my 340 clutch done. Flew through the mot as well. Not bad for a 19 year old car that's never, ever been welded. :D

clutch release bearing

I've an 89 340DL with a very noisey clutch release bearing. I've been quoted over £200.00 to replace this (including a new clutch) by a local mechanic. Bearing in mind the m.o.t. has just run out as well, it don't seem viable to have it fixed. Or in peoples opinion, am I being stiched up by the mech...

Hi Louise, I bought my 1.7 G plate Volvo about a year ago now to get to work about 20 miles away. I bought it with 8 months mot with the view to scrapping it when the mot came up again and get another. I still have it and put it through the mot last month all it needed was a new horn. Not bad for a ...
