B14 Clutch Woes 1982 343 DL
The other day, as I climbed a hill, she started bucking again and then she started vibrating as if something in the drive train was coming apart. This on & off bucking has been going on for a while now (9 months, maybe) and folks have told me it's either the carb (fuel starvation) or the timing. I'v...

Re: '82 343 1.4 No spark.
Rich, you are the Man! Thanks so much! John thought it might be the ethanol blend we have here, but I'm not so sure. BTW, Fram CA3793 is also listed for the 300 series and others: RENAULT FUEGO 1.6L - GTL, R1361, 54mm high 1991 VOLVO 300 1.7L - B1, to 10/91 1990 VOLVO 300 1.7L - B1 1989 VOLVO 300 1....

Re: '82 343 1.4 No spark.
Thanks to all for the tips. I changed the plugs (NGK's) up a heat range and she started right up. The old plugs, also NGK's are about a year old and were black. I guess she was running rich. Now she seems to be bucking a bit when I accelerate and the pedal is, say, half way depressed. Power piston i...

'82 343 1.4 No spark.
Hi folks, I'm trying to start my 343 and all she does is crank. She last started up about three weeks ago. It was tuned up last Spring; plugs, points, condensor, wires and coil. I've tested for spark at the plug wires and also at the wire coming out of the coil and there's no spark. Do the coils go ...

A Little Snow.
After last weeks ice storm, this week we were treated to a "Nor' easter". http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x103/bob04917/Image068.jpg Grab your shovel! http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x103/bob04917/Image069.jpg Where'd she go? http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x103/bob04917/Image070.jpg Cleari...

Hi all, thanks for the responses. I've been putting E10 in the gas tank, seems all they sell around here. I didn't think about changing the thermostat. Is the thermostat in the upper radiator hose by the water pump? Know what the part number is? Maybe I can get one locally. It does get nice and toas...

EFE 532X
Hey folks, EFE's still chugging along here in Northern New England. Anyone know where I can get a snowcap for the cowling vent? Snow has started falling. http://i185.photobucket.com/albums/x103/bob04917/Image062.jpg It really needs to be warmed up before setting off in the morning, especially when t...
