the drive shaft sounds like it has just slipped forwards. use a crow bar (or similar) to push it back from the front of the car. you need someone to open the clutch so you can line it up on the back end of the car. ideally its a 3 man job - 1 to hold the clutch open, one to push the drive shaft ...
