Re: Cheap 300 with some MOT

Well I have had a 340 before and I did a fair bit of work on that to get it through the mot. Jacking points, sills etc. So this time around I would like one which needs as little work as possible. The reason I put cheap as possible is I know a fair amount of 300's look quite tatty and I am really fus...

Re: Cheap 300 with some MOT

Hi,

Cheers for the reply, I am keen on getting the car but it is a real put off with it having no T&T. I just want something I can jump into and use and not have to work on.

Do you think it would require a lot to sort it out?

Cheers

Re: Parts or whole 360gl

Hi there,

I am looking for a cheap run around at the moment, if the car has any MOT what would you be willing to sell the car for as a whole?

Cheers

Re: Car wont start by key, have to tow it

Hello everyone, I have checked the valve clearances and they are not all perfect but I wouldn't have thought it would not run at all with only being out by such a small amount. If the clearances are out of the recommended values by a tiny amount would it make the car not run or just make it run lump...

1.7 engine Macclesfield

After months of trying to get the car running it looks as though its not gonna get started.

Does anyone have a 1.7 engine as close to Macclesfield as possible for as little cash as possible :P

Thanks guys

Re: Car wont start by key, have to tow it

Cheers for the help. To be honest if we cant get it running next week its going to get broken down. Cant really afford to spend any money on it after trying 2 carbs 2 manifolds 2 renix units etc etc. If anyone has a spare crank position sensor i could borrow that would be great, Ive tried cleaning t...

Re: Car wont start by key, have to tow it

Cheers Chris,

I heard somewhere that renault supplied the shims too so ill have a look round.

I didn't remove the shims when i fitted the new cam. It was working perfectly for about a week then its just got worse and worse since then.

Re: Car wont start by key, have to tow it

Its the 1.7 so i will have to order a set of valve shims.

would anyone know where these can be purchased from?

Cheers

Re: Car wont start by key, have to tow it

When the cam was installed I set up the timing and everything was running great for a week or so.

it started with a lumpy idle and then just went progressively worse until now when it wont start.

Im unsure as to what it could be, but could try putting the old cam in

Cheers
