Re: Royal Mail

I got fed up with the Royal Fail leaving "we tried to deliver but you were out" cards. I paid £60 for a PO Box. This means that stuff is kept at my local sorting office for me to collect. You only need to check the box when you're expecting something (or once a month if you're not expecting anything...

Bad luck Ben,

Hopefully you'll get your money back - if PayPal don't come up with the goods you should be able to use the small claims court to get the auction site to release his real identity and address so you can pursue him.

Hi lead_foot I think what people are saying is that you have a Mk 2 car with a grille that's had the Volvo logo and diagonal stripe removed. It's also had a Mk 3 front bumper fitted for some reason. The pic Volvosneverdie has posted is of a Mk2 with the correct grille and bumper. I hope you enjoy yo...

Ben,

My answer was a non-slip mat on the dash and a set of battery powered ipod speakers. Not earth shatteringly loud but enough to listen to music as you drive.

Thanks Ben, I'm just glad it's gone to someone who is going to use it and enjoy it. There's a few things I'd have done to it if I was keeping it - like fitting a new thermostat and doing something with the few small patches where rust is beginning to bubble (e.g. corner of front valance) but it's do...

I can confirm that this car has now been sold and collected by it's buyer.

I hope he enjoys it and gets good service out of it.

I'm going to be sad to see the my 340 go but knowing that Ben's on here and benefiting from people's support and advice is a comfort. I've managed to secure myself a low mileage 460 turbo auto with full service history to replace it so I'll fun, even if the insurance is more, the economy less and th...

I'll keep you updated.

Thanks for your interest.

Yes, so far it's still for sale.

I've had a bit of interest so it'll be a case of first come, first served.

Feel free to PM me.

If it sells, I'll post on here as soon as I can. So far, there's no-one interested in looking at it before the weekend.

340 GL 1.4 sadly for sale

Hi there folks, Sadly I'm offering my 340 for sale. I bought it about 6 months ago - there are pics here The car's now just done 60,000 and has been a great reliable daily runner. I did a full oil, filters and plugs change when I bought it but it's probably due for a service and a fettle now. There'...

I bought my 340 on ebay about a month ago for £350 but it was in better condition than that appears to be and did have a 12 month MOT.

In case you're interested, that car was originally registered in Bradford - that's the home of old style 'HD' registrations as far as I know.

Thanks Mac I've never been convinced that they're fully necessary in UK climates anyway so will probably just leave it if it doesn't work. Useful and interesting to know how they do work, should I change my mind though. I've just checked the V5 and it was definitely first registered in the UK as new...
