Re: What happen if you change a Renix with a different code
The 1.7 engine has a special design combustion chamber, which allows ridiculously lean mixture and high spark advance at low loads. The ignition curve is definately off for any redblock. I strongly recommend to fit a correct renix unit.

Re: Presale of EMV overhaul kit
I have not seen any user reports about the EMV repair kit, so here comes one: .. They're brilliant .. Using this kit is the simplest and most effective ways to repair a EMV with broken valves. The diode included is not always needed but still handy. The O-rings can make a significant impact on perfo...

Re: 35 years Volvo300; 10years V3C's anniversary event
and did you see how high the water level is on the right side of the picture? During the rally we had frequent occasions where we would drive up a slope just to find a waterway filled to the top, resulting in water levels sometimes multiple meters higher than the surrounding areas  Last time ...

Re: Spammers.
In my experience (being admin of the V3C board), the 'silly question' method is integral part of the 'bulletproof spam wall'. Another part is the software we use, buying an owned licence for vBulletin cost us (V3C) around 150 pounds, but even while I haven't done anything substantial to it in over 3...

Re: History of the Volvo 300 on the site
Do you mean this one? EDIT: you can see the early pushbuttons in that pic too ... well, the bumpers match with what I had in mind for the "last DAF-named but already very much alike 343" prototype. If this thing is real it is even closer to the released version, still carrying DAF 77 designation. M...

Re: History of the Volvo 300 on the site
correction; "a" prototype rather than "the" prototype.SteveP wrote:compares the Daf 77 prototype
in this stage there were still 3 or 4 design versions in the running.
The later (more definitive) version was exactly the same as the 343, except for the grille and bumpers, and some other minor details.

never ending discussion, it seems.
interesting to see that the brown and black dashboards have been sold concurrently.
did that brown versions still have the pushbuttons?

Re: rear wheel bearing help???
always use plenty of heat on rear wheel bearings
propane torch preferably, will loosen the Loctite thats on the splines.
afterwards, changing the bearing is also much easier when things are at temperature.

Re: Washer and thread sizes
sump plug is M18x1,5
CVT drain plug on primary box is the same, i believe.
don't remember what the drain plug thread size is on the secondary box...
for the washers it is best to buy an assortment box. that way you always have the correct size at hand.

OK I have built a makeshift test setup with 12V power supply, a bunch of rectangle (25W) Volvo speakers, and ofcourse a Volvo radio counterplug connecting it all together :P I must say I am stunned by the difference in quality between this radio and a 'regular' Volvo 4-Stereo radio (which only has 2...
