Re: 1977 343

If anyone wants to have a proper look around this car, and what makes the 1977 cars so unique, then I've made a little video tour of my car: https://youtu.be/lBT4ZivldEo

Re: 1981 Green 345 in Ely

I've been doing a few more jobs on this car during the lockdown, which has made it look a lot better. Those who saw the car at the BKV last year will recall that there was a lot of dodgy paint and green tape hiding rusty bits: https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/49785186367_da6ab77b5a_b.jpg 1981 Vol...

Re: 1981 Green 345 in Ely

Massive thread resurrection, 6 years later! I realise that people rarely use this forum these days, but I thought it would be nice to do a full post on this car which has a chance of lasting for a decent chunk of time, rather than disappearing into the facebook group black hole. Anyway, the update o...

Re: 1977 343 Dashboard Lights

I have not had any further luck with this. The only thing I have managed to do is learn how to dismantle most of my dashboard, because my car currently looks like this https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4354/37094659640_2953f24c35_c.jpg IMG_1677 by Siôn Hudson , on Flickr So the fault manifests itself a...

Re: 1977 343 Dashboard Lights

Thanks - I had another poke around over the weekend and learned some more. The earth wire from the dash goes into the four light and heated window switches, and earths each of them in series. The earth then travels into a multi-plug at the bottom of the steering column shroud. I am not quite sure wh...

1977 343 Dashboard Lights

Hi all Gosh it's been a while since I've posted on here, oh dear :? Anyway, I wonder if anyone has any bright ideas on the following problem I am having with my 1977 343, picture for a reminder: https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4330/35192214153_f011e87f09_c.jpg TUJ by Siôn Hudson , on Flickr It went i...

Re: A long weekend in Flatland

I have been to this show for the last 3 years, and it's by far and away the best classic Volvo show *ever*!

It's really not that far to travel, the eurotunnel is cheap, and I can recommend a couple of decent budget hotels nearby.

Happy 40th birthday, car! http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c72/enjoyhotcoffee/450E0334-2FDC-44EE-9A07-A455A169BE47.jpg I've missed putting a post up for a few days, but my 343 was 'on the line' on 14 September 1976, so 40 years ago this week: http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c72/enjoyhotcoffee/IMG...

I am also going, but only on Sunday. If you are there then, it would be great to meet you. Would you be bringing your green car?

Re: "Professionals" huh!

Just an update on this: BHX passed its MOT with no advisories, and successfully carried me to the 300 annual event at Crich this weekend, even carrying a chair back from Ikea for me! http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c72/enjoyhotcoffee/IMG_8742.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c72/enjoyhotcoffe...

Re: "Professionals" huh!

Today brought this thread to a happy conclusion. Mac came round with the fully assembled axle, but before we could start on fitting it to BHX, I'd had a bit of a disaster when renewing the water pump seals on my '82 245: two of the bolts had sheared off in the block whilst torqueing. It was supposed...

Re: Middle Seat Belt, Early Cars (Lack Of)

None of my cars have centre belts. I do remember my mother's 1987 340 did have though. My 1977 car doesn't have rear belts at all, as it's a Dutch import, I'm fairly sure that British ones did have them fitted: is that right HellDriver? I've yet to be brave and carry anyone in the back! Even my 1982...

Oh I hope that you can get a video link of the program when it airs, I'd love to see it.

Good luck on your Scandinavian trip :)
