Re: Sluggish Starting after a run

Yes they look similar/the same as mine - it's quite an investment for the number of times you'll likely use it, but I found it very difficult trying without and this just made it a piece of cake. Saying that, you might not have to totally disassemble your rear brakes - could be a sticky wheel cylind...

Re: Sluggish Starting after a run

That's a good result! The handbrake cables can be a bit of a pain to seperate from the shoes, so I'd recommend some handheld handbrake cable spring compressors, it makes the job doable in seconds rather than a lot of swearing

Re: 1989 340 360 Accessory Catalogue

Thanks for scanning and sharing, these are superb :)

I believe the load levelling suspension was made by Monroe - the gauge you see in the car is shared with some of the bigger Volvo's too.

I think this website has some, he advertised them on Facebook and they're probably in here somewhere:

I also have an econometer to fit at the same time, I have been sourcing vacuum hose and I have the manifold take off nipple so I am ready to go with that one.
Do you have a source for the manifold take off nipple or did you just get one from a 940 or similar?

Re: Armchair metal detecting.

Fairly new here and surprised how quiet it is, great forum with hours of reading and knowledge to be gained. FB serves a purpose to satisfy an immediate response but forums always have longevity attached. Long may it continue. Sadly this lockdown is preventing me getting miles on my 'new' 360 after...

Re: 360 GLT parts

Hi Tony,

You should be able to source a rear spoiler easy enough - they are not GLT specific, the brakes are also the same. If you're on Facebook you might want to check out the Volvo 300 Mania facebook group as there are often owners breaking cars there.

Re: Creaking noise while turning left

Haha, nicely done on the exhaust fitment - certainly makes it look more 'stock' with the piddly standard exit. I suspect you might struggle with traction on the original wheels but low grip can be fun :D

Fingers crossed on the wheel bearing, simple fix if it turns out to be that!

Re: Creaking noise while turning left

That's certainly a bit of a sleeper, looks like a stock 340! :D I was about to say the rear box is looking a little low. It also looks like a standard 340 backbox which isn't going to be doing you any performance favours. It could be the rear boot seal causing water ingress too, but for resealing th...

Re: Creaking noise while turning left

Ah, strange - on the Classic Swede website they say they are fitted with grease nipples, perhaps there are two versions?! Unfortunately there isn't much of an alternative for top mounts unless you happen to get a decent used set, but they are a weak point with no OEM style replacement as yet. :( Unl...

Re: Creaking noise while turning left

Sounds like a cool car! Ordinarily I'd have said top mounts as they are a known weak point on the 300 series, particularly with the heavier engine in the redblock cars. I believe the classic swede top mounts have a grease nipple for maintenance - worth a shot? Other suggestion I may have is engine m...

Re: Battery connections queries

I can check when I'm nearer my GLT but that might not be for a couple of days, but some of those connections look to be non-factory additions, perhaps as you say for an alarm/audio equipment. Don't worry about the aux fuse box, UK market B200E GLT's do not have an oxygen sensor, but in other markets...
