Re: American interested in a 360

Welcome, would certainly be an unusual car in America... though the 360 does share some parts with 200/700/900's so it should't be too impossible to run one. If you were looking to import, I'd look at Australian cars also - they are currently commanding much stronger prices in the UK and rust is les...

Re: Brake Hoses

Nice job, glad that it's been going smoothly! The front disc/hub arrangement is a bit annoying and the hub stake nuts are no longer readily available. I've been looking into this recently as my GLT needs front discs replacing. I managed to get some from the Daf Club NL and a lucky NOS pair found on ...

Re: Fake - F7R Motorsport Daily

Awesome jobs on this, all these little things add up to make the car much more usable and nicer to drive.

I can't believe it was that long ago doing the window mechanisms in Southampton. Here we are 14 years later faffing around doing the same thing

Re: '85 360 GLS

Good move on getting some long nose vice grips, not sure how you'd get enough force on the springs without them. I was pulling the top spring with all my weight to get it all the way across to the other shoe  I used them for the spring retainers too, as you quickly run out of hands trying to su...

Re: '85 360 GLS

Cheers! The rear brakes were not too bad, springs, shoes and drums were in decent shape with loads of life left so I didn't bother replacing them. When refitting the springs I'd recommend a strong set of long nose vice grips to grip them so you can pull them across, the top spring is particularly st...

Re: 360 carby fuel supply

Good stuff, that looks similar to the o-ring that Mac supplied me for my GLS (Solex Z11 too), it certainly seems to work and seal correctly but the tight fit made adjusting the screw quite difficult as it was hard to tell if it was turning! Now that it all appears to be set up ok though I hope not t...

Re: '85 360 GLS

Epic work. The GLT is mine already ;-0 Vrrrooommm.... Hands off  The GLS now has an MOT, the tester gave me a verbal advisory about rear brake imbalance so I spent yesterday afternoon replacing the wheel cylinders and OSR flexi brake hose. Just need to bleed the system now and will use it thro...

Re: '85 360 GLS

Yeah it was pretty nasty! No other option but to swap it really - the shape of a 360 tank means it'd be very difficult to clean thoroughly when mounted to the car. Yeah, you're right - I've been paranoid about it since with my GLT as I don't use it over winter so have also been using Stabil. I'm hop...

Re: '85 360 GLS

Cheers guys - yeah the car is in good shape really, apart from the fact it was sat for years before I bought it and the fuel tank was very rusty internally. I'll be interested to see how it drives compared to my GLT, it 'feels' as though the throttle is much more responsive, it will probably cruise ...

If you're used to repairing a CRX then the 360 probably wont be so bad :D

Re: '85 360 GLS

https://i.ibb.co/jRtVB9r/IMG-20200711-161356.jpg It's finally all back together and driven it briefly on a small private road, having issues with the Renix unit (no spark, something internal as the Mac guide ruled out the rest), so was testing it with one removed from my old GLT. Managed to source ...

Re: 4 years in storage , what’s the market rate?

The only rust is on the sills, doors and surface rust in the arches. I’ve been under it with a screwdriver.. Yeah that sounds bad enough. So doors and sills are rusted through? Inner arches are ok? I think Ride_on is particuarly pessimistic because of the time he's had to spend welding his in the p...

Re: 4 years in storage , what’s the market rate?

It's a black 360 GLT saloon, seem to recall it's a G plate which is quite rare for a 360. Sills are a lot easier to repair to a good standard than a screen surround, thankfully!

Re: 4 years in storage , what’s the market rate?

Would be a shame for it to get trashed, if it were blue like my old saloon I'd have been very tempted to recreate that car, even though it does look great in black!

Re: 4 years in storage , what’s the market rate?

Values are all over the place from £1000 to 6-7k for a low mileage minter. Either way you'll do much better if the car has MOT, it takes out a whole logistics issue - especially under the circumstances! :D There's a red GLT saloon for sale at the moment for £2k, looks tidy enough but needs rear arch...
