Re: Final Drive Gears

You'll want a diff out of a 5 speed 340 1.4 - though I guess you didn't get them over there!

Re: 1986 Volvo 340 DL cutting out at low revs

That's a pretty impressive trek for a car that's been laid up for so long, glad it made it :) Do you have an inline fuel filter? My suspicion would be that the long run has drawn some debris up from the tank. Worth checking the internal tank condition (there's a plate in the boot you can take the fu...

Re: Fuel return

Maybe the pump is pumping too much fuel and overloading the return line? I've not done it but it should just be a case of extracting the solid plastic line out of the chassis rail, reconnecting and feeding through. Not too bad a job but fiddly. If its a carbed car I would replace all of the fabric s...

Re: glueing rubber on body paintwork

I wouldn't use anything household, the side trim I believe from the factory would have used strong tape. 3M make various products so I'd start looking in that direction! I would try and remove the trim entirely and clean the surface/trim piece thoroughly before reapplying.

Re: New 340 project - rallycross, drift and learning

B230 turbo with 360 running gear is enough to make them a right laugh. I always feel like the M90/live rear axle conversion is a step backwards in terms of weight distribution/balance. It doesn't exactly bolt in and you'd need a custom propshaft.

Re: Volvo 360 GLT valuation

The clutch thing was a common issue, especially on a car that sits around for a bit. Mine tends to do it if left for long periods of time, but if used regularly is no problem. Congrats on the purchase, sounds like a nice example! Shame about the ULEZ, you'll have to try find an older one :D

Re: Volvo 360 GLT valuation

I'd say anything from 1500-3000, hard to say without further photos but the prices are really determined by the body condition. 360's are tough mechanically but bodywork is expensive to rectify. However, the low mileage might help matters. Also I'd say pre-85 cars are possibly slightly more desirabl...

There are a few members that know the CVT system well, you might be better off trying the volvo300mania Facebook group as it tends to get more views nowadays!

Re: Window glass scraper

I'm afraid they've not been available to buy new from Volvo for about 15 years and so far nobody has found an off-the-shelf replacement that fits well. Best bet is a good used set, but that can be tricky as it's a common issue.

I bet it rides a bit more comfy on the stock setup! Look forward to seeing it once the bodywork has been completed.
