Have you guys thought about the quality of the material? for example the sway bars on a Toyota's is much thicker then Volvo`s and that's because the quality of the steel... This difference has nothing to do with the quality of the steel. The E-moduli of various steel varieties are virtually the sam...

Because sway bars are just another form of spring. Add to much, without compensating through shocks and you get a pogo-dancing front end.

Also..too much understeer is fun for no-one, though a stock open-diffed 360 could probably use some to help put power down on corner exit.

Has anyone tried using cold air ducting to the back of the disc to aid cooling? I've never felt the need to do it but I would be interested in the results. Nice to see that this forum is finally beginning to see some sense, jump of the big-brake bandwagon and first try to see what they can achieve ...

It already has coilovers from the factory.. big springs, little springs, who cares. Makes no difference at all, as long as they are stiffer then stock.

I think the fuelling is the least of your troubles.

Supercharger + home made brackets = potential for endless belt alignment issues.

I believe that there were 2 types of dana30 diffs, with different mountings for the CWP. Just make sure you get the right one. (see eg turbobricks for info.difference is in the size of CWP and ratio's.)

Come on..how often do you actually touch those bolts? NEVER

So what if one is rounded? Just weld something to the bolt and continue on..basic procedure imho. How that little job could be worth 400GBP (price bump of Quaiffe bolt in) is beyond me.

If the brakes on our Trueno were anything to go by (which feel in excellent condition) then the std Volvo system is a lot better. Nice communicative and progressive feel to the brakes.. Corolla calipers would be a downgrade imho. Then again, I really like the upgraded stock Volvo system and didn't e...

Nopes, but 240LSDs have been fitted with minor modifications, so a locker will fit too. This has been discussed several times on the forums, including pictures of the mods needed.
You also have the dana30 true trac diffs, which are in essence a Torsen type differentials.

Lockers work perfectly fine on the streets..just a lot of chatter on very tight corners. No need to spread misinformation if everyone is just guessing. Offcourse a true LSD is better, but for price and reliability, the lockers are just unbeatable.

I believe I have seen pictures floating around the net (finnish forums?) where they showed a modified v300 casing with stock 240 clutch type LSD. Biggest problem was fitting the diff inside the casing, the bolts keeping the diff together were ground down and a few mm's were taken out of the casing i...

Maybe they took out a bit of caster or added a touch of toe-in relative to your old settings. Those 2 can make a dramatic difference.

New tires always tend to steer very easily (and grip pretty lousy, but this isn't always obvious). It is the stuff they spray into the molds that prevents the tires from sticking to them. After a day or two, this layer is skuffed off and everything is back to normal.

they put less strain on the engine How do you see this? Why exactly would a supercharger produce less strain? The engine has to turn the supercharger as well, that means a peak horsepower loss of up to 20%. Horsepower (and heat) that the engine is producing, but that never arrives at the wheels. Ea...

@jtbo: Problem of non-LSD can be helped somewhat by dumping the rear of the car as low as you can get it. That way you shift some weight towards the rear. Other factors that help out tremendously are: lightweight bucketseat mounted to the floor and more toward the rear of the car. Its possible to ge...
