Volvo 740 GLE Estate £350

It's been a while since I've been on here, but is anyone in need of a work horse? I've owned this 740 since March and it's helped with numerous jobs, including a house move, but it's now time to move it on. Details: 1987 740 GLE 2.3 automatic 143,000 miles MoT - 18th February 2012 Tax - not much, en...

Re: Award Winning 360 For Sale

I presume this lovely 360 was bought by someone recently, as it's now up for sale again with a bit of a mark up  http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=330481468292 Edit: Just noticed the recent discussion on the VOC forum about this car. Let's take bets on how long it takes to ...

Re: 360 GLT 'Jet' SOLD

'scuse me, but WTF? Those rusty bits shouldn't be considered as within 30cm of a body mounting! The spring mounts are like 45cm away in both directions, I'm pretty sure the damper doesn't count as it has leaf springs. Also, those front dampers were new when I personally installed them last year, I'...

Sold to a nice bloke called Erik who'll be using Jet as his daily. Hopefully it should do him proud once the MoT issues are sorted :)

Re: 360 GLT 'Jet'

Quite a common place for them to go on that rear chassis rail join... Pete posted some cutaway pictures of the internal structure and there's no surprise as drainage is limited to say the least! Good luck with the sale, overall a nice looking car! Thanks Steve, I'm hoping someone with welding skill...

360 GLT 'Jet' SOLD

With regret I'm having to sell the 360, as the MoT man has failed it on the dreaded rot today (amongst a few other things). My other cars also need money spent on them, so this one has to go as funds won't stretch! Failure sheet states: -Nearside front position lamp not working -NS and OS front shoc...

Re: wheel ideas

The gold ones or picture 4 I'd fancy. Personally I don't like minilites on a 300, the cars are too angular for the style of wheel. Just my opinion of course.

Re: noob here with my 360 glt

i am loving the volvo 8) and feeling very chuffed how good it is and may lay off doing too much to it. defo drop it and change the rims and keep everything to put it back to standard if i change it to a Jap rwd. :-D I'd agree with you there on all counts, subtle and reversible mods should suit your...

Re: I decided to modify....

Nice and tidy as always Ian. The original dealer sticker in the rear window does it for me, I love those little details.

I've owned a maroon car before and I found it a chore getting it to look immaculate so I can sympathise!

Re: noob here with my 360 glt

Very nice car and bargain-tastic, you've got a good one there by the looks of it :) The ebay photos didn't do it justice. i really do want to get the mpg up as i managed to get 130 miles to £20 yeasterday and that was 80% motorway and mainly thanks to the econ guage. That sounds normal mpg I'm afrai...

Re: Ebay bargain of the week.

He's not very good at prepping cars for sale that bloke of Old Hopeful is he. For a £1200 mk3 I'd want an immaculate engine bay and clean carpets - doing close up photos of a dirty carpet and manky wiper blade isn't the best idea is it

Re: Good modern crap?

I'll add the Volvo S60. I got one as a hire car back in 2004, an unexpected upgrade as I was due an Astra or something equally dire, it was a diesel with leather interior, in-built sat nav etc and it was superb! I drove from London to Exeter in just over 2 hours IIRC...And it handled well on the twi...

On ebay, a GLT saloon must be a rare thing over here:
