Rear fender 4D saloon or front smashed car to break
I have my beloved 340dl with 2,5l 16v turbo and bmw e36 gearbox and torsensifferential together mounted in the rear MOT and everything is OK, except for it needs a new rear fender, preferably both sides. We've had the car today for 20 years in the family, and i'd like to do a paintjob to get it look...

Yes, mechanically the engine is easy to put in. You need to swap the engine mounts, the oilpan + oilpump (or the oilpump pickup), the distributor (B230FT has it in the end of the cylhead, 300 series VOLVO engines have it in the block), be aware that B230FT has a PLACE for the block dizzy, but no gea...

I think you'll hit the hood. The K-jet intake is VERY high. I haven't got the slightest clue, why to fit a K-jet into a 300 series, when they came from the factory with EFI. :? Fit a megasquirt, and a EFI manifold instead. My B234F manifold on my 16v engine is already VERY close to the hood, not to ...

Yes, the body on all 300 series are quite the same. In a 340, you probably have the B14, a renault 1.4L. The same engine can be found at least from a renault 5, both with turbo, and without, the 1,4 carbyturbo should fit quite easilly. One guy here at the Finnish volvo forum has done this. Then ther...

Dyno results!
Got some results here a while ago. Here's some curves: http://koti.mbnet.fi/fredrikr/Volvo%20340DL/340DL.jpg 180hp@5700rm / 256Nm@4200rpm was the average from 4 tests on different even roads. As you can see, the torque is awesome even near idling speeds, 140Nm@1100rpm, and stays good untill 5600rpm,...

Blown my nerves now with streetdyno and my both computers. The program simply SUCKS. It bugs my both computers, access violations, illegal operations..... you name it. Worse than those late 90's 16/32bit win95 programs, that didn't work for a bit. I haven't got a closest look at a good cur...

The redmarked thing in the first picture is the Pulsair system on a B200E engine. Basically it's idea is to get a part of the exhaust gases to go into the intake manifold again, and thereby get cleaner emissions from the engine. So less pollution. The auxilary air valve is the thing with the WHITE c...

The 4 and 5cyl whiteblock engines (T5 is one of theese) have a clutch diameter of 228mm. 300 series volvos with redblock's have a 215mm clutch, BUT a 228mm clutch will fit without modification, as the flywheel is the same as in BIG (200/700/900) volvo's, wich feature 228mm clutch plates. If you need...

The B14 renix units DON'T have rev limiters. I tested my B14 4E -85, and it went up to 6600rpm without a problem on the 2nd gear. And i used the same unit on my 2,5L 16v engine, and it went well over 7krpm, and FAST. Also tested a couple other B14 units. No confirmation of the B172 units. But the B2...

I got a Volvo Penta 16v engine for my project, the first thing i changed, was the 9mm con rods. I'm planning on about 350hp from the engine with turbo, and without it should have about 200. So no room for weak con rods here. I spoke with a guy, that has wrecked 3 B200 engines in his 340 volvo, drivi...

From the pic's i can say, that that belt hasn't probably been around more than 60000km. But the change interval is 80000km. But i advise you to change, if it's older than 4 years (rubber has a habit of going bad under time). The B200K engine will most likely crash the exchaust valves (and maybe some...

The bellhousing bolt plattern is the same in ALL theese volvo redblock engines: B18 B20 B17 B19 B21 B23 B200 B204 B230 B234 Found in RWD volvo cars from 1962-1998. And yes, there should be an adapter plate ready, to fit a volvo ALLOY engine to a redblock bellhousing. Here's a pic from a B230 block: ...
