Re: welded diff?
Admittably a welded diff isnt the idea solution, it can be a bit unforgiving in the wet but for fast road use in the dry they are fine. The extra understeer isnt a massive issue, although I'm not a great driver so it's likely I'm not pushing the car hard enough. An LSD from another Volvo won't fit w...

Re: Just want to clear something up!
what year, model, miles? 1987 360 GLT injection (the odo is broken at 99k so inexcess of that) +99,000 miles. How well serviced? Very well from what I can see, the previous owner had it done every year, got stacks of history. Only EO parts? Pattern a far as I can see. PS? sorry? What fuel? just regu...

Re: welded diff?
If you can buy a nice cheap direct fit LSD then thats cool, but if it's major work why bother? Either keep it with an open diff and except that you'll find it difficult to put power down or weld the bu**er up and put up with the fact it'll hop and skip a bit at slow speed (which you'll get with a ti...

Re: 2.3 conversion - Worth the hassle?
It's an EFi so I'm guessing its a bosch system.
Thanks skid racer Think I might ditch the 2.3 idea (seems like a fair amount of work for basically no gain) and just go for a turbo! Seems to be the way forward/sideways

Just want to clear something up!
I've not checked the ignition timing yet (but ruling out the fact that my ignition is massively retarded) I feel like there might be something wrong with my 360. I don't expect it to be a rocket ship, but the car seems abnormally slow for a car of it's weight, power and size. The engine seems health...

2.3 conversion - Worth the hassle?
Right basically my 360 is woefully underpowered. I would like to put in a b200 or b230 turbo at some point, but I'm aware of clearance issues with turbos/engine mounts, exhaust down pipes and managment that ATM I'm not up for sorting out. However I've been offered a n/a 240 estate with a b230 engine...

Re: My 360 GLT - Welded diff
The diff has now been locked solid thanks to the mates MIG welder
Now it need more power!
Is a 2.3 conversion worth the hassle? or should I just go for a turbo or 16V engine?

Re: welded diff?
Had a welded diff on my old Sierra, now got a welded diff on my Volvo 360. Both of these cars were/are used as dailys (i'm not rich enough to run two cars at the same time, so my fun car is my daily too  ) Welded diffs are IMO fine for regular road use, the skipping and understeer isnt as bad a...

Re: do 17" alloys fit 340s?
Only trial fitted them to the back, and they were 7.5jx17" but they weren't a direct fit especally with 2" lowering blocks the tyre sat on the arch  . I would imagine they will fit, but you have to do arch work it your going to lower it! http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a376/robin_xr4i/DSC0073...

Got the struts off yesterday and dropped them up to a mate to get the threaded sleeves welded on to convert the McPherson to height adjustable coilovers. When and picked them up this morning........ http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a376/robin_xr4i/DSC00782.jpg http://i15.photobucket.com/albums/a376...

Re: Bought my 360 GLT saloon today
Yeah I noticed my inside wheelspin. Wasnt convinced about welding the diff up but sod it, its not a daily drive! Seriously do it! Had a welder on my old Sierra and that was a daily, best mod ever and it cost next to bu**er all too. Stiff suspension and a welded diff are the best mods to any RWD car...

Thats lush always like the saloon more than the hatch. 2" drop and a welder sound like a good idea
