WANTED:cam cover / air box t-piece (1.4 engine)
Hiya, Our Volvo 340 has had a bit of a mishap. Apparently there's a t-piece connecting the air box/carb and the cam cover (rocker cover, I want to call it, being an OHV person). I've not been able to see it yet as our car died just after a service and the garage are therefore hanging on to it at the...

Re: Changing the water pump
See, I looked on dafhobby and could only see a couple of hoses for the late 340s... I admit it was only a quick look! :) Thanks for the headsup though, I've popped a PM over to volvomania. :) Of course, this might count as preventative maintenance, which is something I've not been able to do since s...

Re: Changing the water pump
Mmm, I was thinking that, but then could only find the bottom and top hoses for sale anywhere. If you (or anyone) has a tip of somewhere that's got a complete set of hoses for sale (ideally not painfully expensive) then I'd be interested

Changing the water pump
So, our beloved 340 seems to know it's approaching 100k miles and to celebrate it's decided to test us a bit. A couple of weeks ago the rad went, leaking all of the coolant - more or less - out through what became a front facing fountain. We managed to get the car home (it was only a couple of miles...

Re: Front strut failure
I'm sure it'll be okay, I think just a bit more umph will get them undone, but I didn't have the umph or the tools available, and it costs me 40 quid each trip down there (in petrol)...
N'er mind, 'm fairly sure the garage will sort 'im.

Re: Front strut failure
Unfortunately, my plan didn't go to plan, as it were. With four hours to do the work in we pulled up at my mum's house. I virtually lept on the car, getting it up and started very quickly. Unfortunately, I couldn't find my 6-sided socket set when I left, and having got there the need to have it beca...

Hiya!
Thanks (again) for that - that's awesome. Hopefully he'll be back on the road soon as I can get down there!

Volvo 340 front strut / cup
Hi,
I'm (urgently) looking for a passenger side front strut for a 340 (with a decent cup on it). Based in Bristol - can collect from near-ish - otherwise I'll obviously pay postage if you're happy to ship!

Re: Front strut failure
Aye, I'm keen to save him, but deffo need recommendations for mechanics near Liskeard... Also, suggestions for where to get a new strut from. Partco do a strut with no spring seat, and henrics do a seat with no strut. Since I trust none of the garages I've come in contact with to weld competently*, ...

Front strut failure
Hiya folks, So, it appears our beloved 340 has suffered the common cup-of-rust on the strut failure (thankfully at low speed). Unfortunately it's done this at my mum's house in *Cornwall*. At this point it's a bit of a 'do we get it fixed' problem... We really would rather keep him running and on th...
