It is sad to let it go but life moves on  I have fixed the minor problems and welded the diff. It is still in mint condition, so there you go... (same as Andy P's old descriptio...

Re: Andy P's Project....SOLD!
As far as I'm aware, the 1.4 and 1.7 gearbox are the same (so long as its a 5 speed!!). The difference is in the diff. Is it noisy whilst in gear or going into gear? If it's just going into gear double cheack the clutch adjustment nuts (on the end of the clutch cable thats sat in the clutch arm sti...

Re: Andy P's Project....SOLD!
It had a 1400 diff in it. Its definately the best diff for the car as its geared shorter so better for acceleration. The 1700 diff is longer and better for cruising. Pm me your address and I'll see if I can dig the seal out and send it off to you :) Its great to see that the car still has an interi...

Re: Welded diff with problems..
were the sprockets damaged allready? if you found loose bits of tooth then the diff is pretty much a write-off, especcially if you run a welded diff were the crown and pignon sprockets have even harder load than normal. if you don't want more teeth to break off the sprockets, use a piece of rounded...

Re: Welded diff with problems..
I have cleaned the diff out the second time, so i think the noise should be just the little damaged diff running (now without those loose bits in there) BTW, why will the noise dissappear when I change to 4th and 5th gear though? dont understand the theory.... :?: :?: or is it the gear box problem :...

Re: Welded diff with problems..
separate the diffhousing from the gearbox, take the diff out and check the crown and pignonwheels for damaga/missing teeth. dit you place the shims of the halfshaftcovers back correctly? Yes I did place the shims of the halfshaftcovers back correctly, but i think the problem should due to the weld ...

Welded diff with problems..
I have welded the diff once before Xmas, and it was broken down after 2 days..since then, there is noise from the gearbox and drive shaft. ( should be) I thought it was the noise from the diff but after I welded it up again last week, it was still here. Obviously the noise I am referring is not the ...

Re: valver's lamda sensor?
Yep, The cable is there to connect the Lambda sensor. You'll need an F7P lamda which are the basic ones found on ebay for a few quid. I've got a brand new one that I bought to fit but never got round to it. Its about somewhere and I can send that to you FOC as well. With regards to the seal Ken - w...
