Volvo 360 3dr 2litre turbo- big spec- £500
For sale on behalf of a friend (who I recently sold this car to! ) The fairly famous and magazine featured black Volvo 360 turbo is up for sale. £500 NO OFFERS, as he is making a loss on it even as that, paid £900 for this a few months ago, and its better condition/spec now than it was when fi...

Re: 360 with 740/940 turbo lumps- bigger than stock turbo?
Turbos are spooled by 3 things, flow, pressure, heat. Less backpressure means more flow but less heat (not sure if there is a constant ratio on that or not, doubt it), but yeah, less backpressure, if its at a level (which will totally depend on the rest of the engine spec) where less will increase f...

Re: 360 with 740/940 turbo lumps- bigger than stock turbo?
Ultimately the 16V is better of course, but this is talking about 900bhp and 8000rpm, something 99% of people wont ever tune their car to even 50% of. Considering how well the 8V head can be made to flow, and how much messing about it is to fit, I'm not too fussed about changing to 16V. Mildly off t...

Re: 360 with 740/940 turbo lumps- bigger than stock turbo?
Yeah from what ive seen, once you start porting its easier to get the flow from the 2V head than it is to go to all the effort of the 16V head conversion which itself needs work to flow amazingly anyhow. If/when I madly fall in love with redblocks and spend some actual money on it it will deffo be s...

Re: 360 with 740/940 turbo lumps- bigger than stock turbo?
400whp from a 2.3 at 17psi? That would be something along the lines of 100bhp per litre (flywheel) n/a, if thats the case thats a goddamn good head!

Re: 360 with 740/940 turbo lumps- bigger than stock turbo?
Basically its a 2.5in pipe, from the ported stock turbo maniold to the inner wing where GT3076 fits. Massive external gate about 1in from the turbo inlet, no need/point going to the effort of modding the manifold barring grinding out the internals a bit. Its a very basic setup with bits I had lying ...

Re: Best 300 for drifting?
I think a 940 Wentworth being easier is a lot to do with driving style etc tbh, getting it out with power is easier, holding it at angle is easier as its long, but actual drifting ive always got on with 300s far better. Even with PAS rack the 360 self centres quicky, doesnt tug you so much when driv...

Re: Best 300 for drifting?
IMHO get a 360, any 360 will do, but PAS is nice to have for drifting IMO, and ive owned and drifted ones with and without. A stock carb 360 in good nick and a stripped interior can pull 5 car lengths on a stock but mint Mk2 Golf GTI from 40-100 or so, and that is me in the Golf (its my daily) and m...

Re: Volvo 350R 2door saloon T5 UD 03/10/09
What a/r is the turbine housing? Take a look and let me know, may have a solution. One things for sure, you wont be able to sell it on for much more than you bought it for, I managed to get a brand new 4502 for 195 as pretty much nobody wants anything like that. If you talking a brand new Garrett GT...

Re: Volvo 350R 2door saloon T5 UD 03/10/09
Fair enough, just the way you said this... GT45...yeah, that would explain it. A GT42 is a 800+hp turbo, so this... Made me think you was saying it would be capable of much more power than a GT42. And its not, as its just the smaller of the two GT42 compressors. Just clarifying, as the guy with the ...

Re: 360 with 740/940 turbo lumps- bigger than stock turbo?
I'll try post some later, its not running yet, but the actual fabrication is 99% done, didnt take very long TBH, only things that get in the way are the header tank and washer bottle, both easy moved. The brake master cyl takes up some room but there so much room on the inner wing its no biggie. The...

Re: 360 with 740/940 turbo lumps- bigger than stock turbo?
Never heard of that site, cheers!
Basically im asking as I have already done it, GT3076 and 60mm external wastegate and using the stock manifold, just wondered if what I welded together was much different to what most do!

Re: 360 with 740/940 turbo lumps- bigger than stock turbo?
Errm no, I don't think it's possible - stock manifold and 13c and it practically touches the inner wing/engine mount! Only way round is a different manifold or an adapter on the stock manifold to raise the turbo a bit Indeed, thats what I mean, has anyone actually done either a different manifold o...

360 with 740/940 turbo lumps- bigger than stock turbo?
As title, anyone actually done it yet?
I know chassis rail, engine mount, etc etc gets in the way with the stock manifold so your not meant to be able to fit a bigger than the little mitsu turbo, but not sure what other people have done.
Anyone done it yet? Pics/info?
