Re: Introduce me and my lovely car :)

Hiya all! Been a long time since i posted, but the car is still perfect, running, and still mine. I never believed that i would keep it, truth be told, but: I did, i still drive daily, and wow, for such a silly old thing ya wouldn't believe the attention it gets: I was in traffic, no movement for a ...

Re: Introduce me and my lovely car :)

Well, hurrah! My brake lights stopped working last night, and the indicator was being "silly". Called out a good friend, because i am a numpty when it comes to cars, and it turned out to be an "earth " problem. Oh, and some "adjustments" the old boy that owned her made before i got her., All sorted,...

Re: Introduce me and my lovely car :)

Thank you volvosneverdie again! Actually, i do feel " at home " here, and i did when i first posted 18 months ago, but i still feel a little out of place : I am not a mechanic, electrician, do not track race, drift, and i am happy ( ish, hehehe ) with everything, and i like the idea of being an "ori...

Dodgy starts

Hi again all, i do not mean to "spam" the forum, but i have been away a while. Ok, my old girl ALWAYS starts, and has no problem running. But sometimes she takes a while to fire, and i get quite a bit of smoke from the exhaust. This happens most when i have been driving for over an hour, park, then ...

Re: Introduce me and my lovely car :)

Hehe! Thanks volvosneverdie ! Nope, i want to keep her as she is, i have been told to anyway. It IS tempting to drop a "lump" into her, but i don't have the need. She does over a ton ( eventually, as i found out after the service man on the last MOT told me to "give her some on the motorway to clear...

Re: Fuel reserve

I will take your ( very quick, thank you ) answer. Maybe i can run her down a little lower than i have been doing. Unless ( newbie question here ), the 360 has a different tank/meter? Guess i am a little over worried. Never ever ran out of fuel on a bike, or my first car ( i am 39, hehe ). Thanks ag...

Fuel reserve

Hi again all 300 maniacs. Maybe a worthless question here. I am an ex bike rider, and 25 years ago, i started with 2 stroke engines ( some i had to add oil with the petrol, hehe), and i always filled up when a quarter full. I continued to do so with bigger bikes, habit i guess. But as i am new to ca...

Re: The Family! [we need your pictures!!]

NO need for more pictures from me, as nothing except the ariel has been changed! But, just so you can see, this was taken on her first trip to the Scottish highlands, over a year ago. ( i stayed, right there, for 2 weeks fishing, car didn't move, i saw noone for 2 weeks, heaven :))

Re: More pesterings from nooby me, headlights this time :)

LONG gap since last post people, but i only just returned! I learned something since i converted to 4 wheels ( still rear wheel power though YAY! ), and that is, as someone mentioned, to slow down. I was used to very bright lights on the bikes, and was surprised at having two huge headlights that ga...

Re: Introduce me and my lovely car :)

Hi again all! I just returned to free time, after around a year of overwork, and no free internet time. Just an update : The old girl now has 22K, from her original 5k. Not TOO bad for around 18 months. And she is still original to the bone, apart from an ariel replacement ( thanks local chavs, you ...

Re: Deluded TV presenters

Also, I seam to remember watching Mr Q Wilson quite exited about a 340 in a 1990's TV program about the bargains to be had with certain second hand cars....amazing how these people contradict themselves and have selective memories! What a hypocrite that man is. Here's the Top Gear episode, the 340 ...
