on a CVT the clutch allways moves freely with the engine off, if it's allready turning hard then the adjustment on the clutch airgap is wrong (too tight).. this still is only in Dutch, i will translate it soon but it will give a rough idea on how and what http://forum.volvo300club.nl/showthread.php...

just need to know if the clutch should spin by hand to check the air gap in the 3 places easily?. as finnaly got car up on stands to look at air gap and not realy being able to move clutch plate very easy!!!!!!

if yours is a big rectagular black shape i got one from a LAND ROVER DISCOVERY 300 DOOR LOCKING MOTOR 2 WIRE on ebay only the other day.
dont know what year it was though, all i had to do was swap the connectors over and fit it.
