Re: Handle coating

The actual handles are different per door (left and right hand side front (with a lock) and left and right hand side rear (without a lock) ), but the seals in between the door and the door handle are identical.

Also a good place to look is www.Born-Built-Beauties.eu
Plenty of parts.
Looking in the UK, it is probably good to put an ad on this site and the fb forums.

Re: New keys/start engine

So you passed me on your way to Dusseldorf if you took the E313. I suspect that the steering lock is slightly misaligned or that the wear on the column and the lock pin of the steering lock do not match. A way to get the lock to unlock is to wiggle with the steering wheel while trying to turn the ke...

The codes of the door cilinders should be the same as that of the tailgate. On a 84 car, the code for these cilinders will start with "KA", followed with 3 digits. On the tailgate lock, it will het stamped on the inside, somewhere hear the edge of the door handle. In the front doors, the code is sta...

I suspect that you will have to cross the Nullarbor as I know that there are some still around in Vic, QLD, NSW, and Tasmania.
