Ok, just to make sure I wouldn't be getting into anything that my car just won't do I better check.
My car has always had manual windows, so it has absolutely nothing (switches etc.) needed to run them. Would you be able to get everything (the windows, switches, any magical gismos that may be needed ...

I meant where on the car is the sensor for the temp gauge. I know the scrapper has one but don't know where on the car to look for it.
Thanks for the rest of the advice

Gauge sensors and other questions

Okay, have my new gauges in, but need to find the sensor for the outside temp gauge on the scrapper I got them from. Where do I need to be looking?

Also a couple of questions about internal lights:

Should the ring around the ignition barrell be lit like the one around the fag lighter?

Should the ...

Can't be this difficult to get leccy mirrors?

Well, in a scrappy local to me are three 1.7 340 GL's on G plates, all with electric mirrors, and all in blue! Anyway, I asked how much for the mirrors, £35 was his answer, which I think he actually meant one mirror, not a pair! When I heard ...

Is there an easy way to do that? It seems pretty tricky to get into the instrument panel

Adjusting Speedo

I've got my new dash installed with all its extra dial goodness, but I think the speedo is out (not sure what the wheel size was on the scrapper,) any ideas on how to adjust it? Or is it easier to take the old speedo out of the old dash and put it into the new one? And if so how?

Any help/hints ...

Re: lumbar support knob

I wanted to see how far the seat would recline and noticed the lumbar support knob hits the rear ashtray, so I unscrewed the knob all the way and took it out.

Now I can't get it to go back in, the female part inside the seat seems to have moved.

Any solution to this?

'just wanted to see how far ...

My 340DL vs A1M Central Reservation

Driving home from work on the A1M stretch between Alconbury and Peterborough in all the snow on Tuesday night I pull into the middle lane to overtake a gritting lorry. I can only assume I hit a large lump of grit under my front-right wheel and began to slide across the outside lane (covered in snow ...

Re: 340 with 4gears, economy?

I may be purchasing a 340 DL '88 manual (1.4) :) for £50, whats the economy like with these 4-gear models?

I assume it can't be worse than my Vario doing 4400 at 70mph!?

Cheers, Si
I do about 120 miles a day on the A6 and the A14 at about 70 and I get about 300 miles out of a tank. If I drive at ...
