Yeah, if emigrating wasn't so difficult I'd consider it. Andy has the right idea, living the American dream (in Canada ;) ) with a V8 69' Dodge 8) Do it! It's not that difficult if you just take the plunge! F sm36 the Brittish government! sm40 http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c207/Andytrans...

No worries. Just glad to keep the old beast on the road a bit longer! I'm suprised it was the relays, but obviously it was them, so that's me told! :) Good work in tracing and sorting the problem. Happy motoring! And lets see some pics of it with those alloy wheels you were on about. If it's those B...

To be honest, I did the wiring for the towbar in my old car myself, so I have no idea where you'd find the relays in a car wired by a 'proper' mechanic or towbar fitter. Maybe someone else with a factory towbar is reading this and can give us a clue where the relays are?? Did you try sticking your h...

I'm pretty sure my B200K wasn't an interference engine... Mine certainly was when my cambelt went! Completely stock cam, etc. I was lucky to get away with just bending no.3 exhaust valve. It went just as I was changing gear, so RPM happened to be low! http://i28.photobucket.com/albums/c207/Andytran...

Hi Andrew. See your PM for my answer to the location of the indicator relays. I just spotted this thread, didn't realise both were not working. :? I have heard if you have a visual warning light and the bulb in that dies it will stop the socket from working but cannot be sure . may have to replace t...

And me. I had a car full of friends & family and was driving home from peterborough in the middle of the night, suddenly at a roundabout the gear lever went completely slack. Couldn't find any of the gears at all! I took the tray/trim out from in front of the gear lever which let me move the lever f...

I just spotted this thread! 27.86, I should have mentioned what the rough speed / rpm ratios are. What I used to go by was that 2000rpm was roughly 10x each gear in road speed. In other words, 2000rpm in 3rd = 30 mph, 2000rpm in 4th = 40 mph, in 5th = 50 mph. 2500 in 5th = 60 mph, 3000 in 5th = 70. ...

Hi, I just logged on again for a quick look - I've been busy working and sightseeing for the last couple of weeks! Glad to hear the car got you home ok, 27.86! No reason why it wouldn't, but it's been parked up a while. Also, I've just spotted your speedo question in the general forum - you should h...

Thanks Mick. That is indeed handy to know. My plate was "valued" at £700! However, after 3 weeks advertising it (with the company which valued it) at £250 for a quick sale, nobody seems to be interested. I think I'll go for the retention, if my dad hasn't already signed anything else. Just to compli...
