Re: carb to injection

Fitted the GLT tank, replaced all the rubber fuel lines, put a gallon of fuel into it, feed 12v straight to the fuel pump fuse ( to prime the system without trying to actually start it). Disconnected my 12v feed and turned over with key and it fired pretty well straight up, the relief flooded over m...

Re: carb to injection

Been a while since I have done anything to he 360, life and work gets in the way, but after unsuccessfully trying to convert the existing GL fuel tank to accept the GLT electric fuel pump, I have bitten the bullet and removed the GL tank and am putting the GLT tank in. After much measuring and looki...

Re: Injection wiring grommet

On a std fuel injected car the + lead ( note: in the wiring diagram this is shown as red, but in my GLT it was black!!, I checked, double checked and triple checked and it was definitely the fuel pump + wire) comes out of the engine loom 1/2 across the top of the heater and joins the main loom of th...

Re: exterior temp gauge.

OK, been back on it today. this is what i found with my car, which is a GL with a GLT motor and using the GLT engine loom. The GL dash loom has two female spade connectors sitting unused, one brown one and one white with black tracer ( the wiring diagram shows this one as black). The temp sender wir...

Re: exterior temp gauge.

I have half worked it out, the internal loom does not have all the wiring you need. Terminals 6 and 12 on the rh dash connector Go to wires that end near the steering column, they both have female spade terminals on them, these are the wires that go to the sender, well in a mk3 with VDO panel anyway...

exterior temp gauge.

Hi all, I am in the process of converting my GL to injected. I also have the 6 dial dash out of the donor GLT. I have fitted the complete GLT engine bay loom, which included the ex temp sender just behind the bumper. I have now fitted the 6 dial dash, with my original speedo fitted into it. The ex t...

Re: carb to injection

I have a couple more questions, ok I swapped the entire engine bay loom from the GLT into the GL, i have not finished the fuel tank end yet so at this stage have not tried to start the car, not that i would until I have sorted the coolant leak anyway. But the query's I have relate to the aux fuse box...

Re: carb to injection

That is what I will do, have just ordered a seal kit via ebay and will whip the pump off when the kit gets here in a week or so.

Re: 200k cylinder head details

OK, now I have the head off the motor, for anyone else wondering, the carb head does not have the threads in the holes that the injected head has, meaning without expensive machining you can not bolt on a EFI inlet manifold to a carb head, you really need to use the EFI head complete.

Re: carb to injection

Thanks, that is a load off my mind, now all I have to do is pull the head off again and replace the seal on top of the water pump that I forgot to renew when I had the head off yesterday, What a dummy, I just forgot all about it and coolant just hosed out as soon as I refilled the radiator. oh well,...

Re: carb to injection

But I have a issue, when I stripped the doner car I was carefull to label all the electrical connecters, all good untill putting the loom into my car this morning, I have one wire that either I missed labeling or the label came ...

Re: 200k cylinder head details

web_b200k.jpg web_2015-01-06 18.54.30.jpg Thanks guys for the replies, there is a little confusion about different water ports. the second photo shows a B200E head without manifold, there are 4 water ports along the side of the head. The first one, working from the front of the head, is blanked off...

200k cylinder head details

I have asked this question in my carb to injection thread, but I thought i would ask it here also, more people might see it. The B200K carb head has a water heated inlet manifold, the water passing thru a port just below no4 cylinder and thru another port just below cyl no1. Now the B200E head also ...

Re: carb to injection

OK I have started stripping the donor car and have a query. I am planning on using my existing head, just fitting the efi manifold. What I have seen is the EFI head has 2 temp sensors in it toward the rear. My head has a blanked off hole below no 3 that one of the sensors will fit into, the other sen...

Re: carb to injection

2014-12-21 08.20.30.jpg I think I have found a way, I am going to drill a 20mm hole in the tank, directly underneath the fuel sender and use a brass bulkhead fitting with a 1/2" hose from that to the fuel pump. I will use the original feed pipe that goes to the existing mechanical fuel pump as the ...
