Yeah, Rupe- I'd already thought of that one. Much easier if you start off with a 360. Besides, my 940's fast and practical. I think the only major project I'd get involved in now would be a 142 or 242- which reminds me- I've just been offered an engine and box from a 2 year old TVR!!!!!! [...

seriously tidy 343 for sale

My 343 is now for sale as my beloved cannot cope with manual steering and a manual choke. She has gone over to the dark side and insisted I buy her a modern car. On the plus side, she's letting me have the money back for the car so I can buy some wheels for my 940 :D Here's the link; http://cgi.ebay...

And it's still running?!

As most of you won't know, I'm an RAC patrol. On my travels the other day I was sent to a low mileage G plate 1.4 345 that had developed a serious misfire. The owner of the car told me that his garage had had a look at it and cleaned out the carb. He informed me that it was definitely a fuel blockag...

every 340 ive had has had the advisory "play in steering rack" I used to learn mechanics with a Daf / volvo Guru who said the 300 racks always feel like that......... dont let 'em fail you on the rack :) Took Maggie for the MOT yesterday. Sailed through after standing for 2 1/2 years (just had to a...

PM sent. Think it may be a bit rich for me though. I was thinking along the lines of a Renault 5 pump and pulley, it was more a case of me not being able to remember if the 1.7's came with a power rack or not. I see so few of these cars now that it's difficult to remember. The bit about the 3...

Power steering on a 1.4?

This is probably a noob question, but did the 1.4's ever come with power steering? I reckon Mrs BB's going to be asking me to convert hers so I thought I may as well ask the question now so I'm prepared when it happens!

There always seems to be some that come up around here- usually in lovely condition. It's because it's full of wrinklies round here. The definition of a fit bird in Cleveleys is one without her zimmerframe :P

Uh oh... looks like the valance didn't get away from the rust stick :( Unfortunately not! I'll grind it back when I get the chance and weld new metal in if neccesary. There's a spot on the back too that's got a little bit on it too, although the rest of the car is rust free. Both areas will be sort...

Looks sweet. Did you do anything to the bumpers, or were they that black when you got it! :) Well done and welcome This is how the car looked when I got it http://img270.imageshack.us/img270/1659/20060210maggie00019fd.jpg The magical fluid that gets them looking like that is Autoglym Bumpercare. Welcome to the site. I remember seeing that on ebay, what a transformation! Looks like new, well done 8) Have you any plans for it now? Plans for aren't much really. The car is so original and unmolested I don't want to do too much to it. It needs paint on the front and rear valances, will be getti...
