Re: Its broken again....
Yeah I can only assume its the engine mounts. I am using the later engine mounts on the earlier crossmember as the blocks have a different thread pitch and the earlier ones wouldnt fit. In hindsight that was probably stupid but it was my only option at the time. I can only assume this means I need t...

Re: Its broken again....
I dont need the parts, well I do need a prop, but that isnt what this post was for :) James has answered my question on the fb page, so hopefully I will be able to swap the output shafts now. I am just worried as I dont know why it has done this.. I dont want it to do it again.. I can only assume th...

Its broken again....
Epic prop fail last night. Needs a new output shaft and prop. I have an output shaft off my old engine, but I was wondering if it was possible to change the shafts without pulling the whole lot out? So yeah, I need a prop. Also, I need to know why it has died, given I have not given it any abuse, or...

Re: 1.4 engine swap in progress
oh I dont know, I will check that, thank you I think I will swap the carb out for the new one I bought off CS as this one is leaking what seems to be oil on the manifold, and it was smoking quite a lot when I got back last night! Definite fire hazard I think..

Re: 1.4 engine swap in progress
Hello, does the carb have an idle solenoid and if so, is it connected? That should cure the idle issue... It does have one and it is connected, it seems to have got a lot better after running it today, but the idle does scramble pretty wildly when its cold, and it will still only run with loads of ...

Re: 1.4 engine swap in progress
Engine is all swapped, and its drivable again now
but there is a couple issues, like it wont run off choke and I have no water temp gauge..
Cant remember what you guys said about the only running on choke thing before..
Apart from that it goes pretty well now

Re: Wipers in wrong position!
I'm sorry, I dont really understand the terminology. They stop in the up position, when I turn them on, they sweep down the windscreen, (same as the normally would if they were on), but then return to stop vertically when switched off. How would I 'park' the wipers in the normal position, without mo...

Wipers in wrong position!
Hey guys,
I nicked the complete engine loom when swapping my engines, so I swapped the wiper motors so the wiring all matched up.
But now the wipers are stuck in the up position.. How do I fix this please?

Re: 1.4 engine swap in progress
Just nicked the whole engine bay loom from the donor.
Actually started it today!! Just need to find somewhere to mount the Renix, and wrap up the loom again and then I will be back on the road!

Re: 1.4 engine swap in progress
Cheers dude.
Its wired into the brake fluid reservoir cap too, does this sound right? Can I sack it off?
I am assuming the orange wire out of the Renix to the alternator negative is the live?

Re: 1.4 engine swap in progress
So if, as I am told by you lot, the renix just needs a live and an earth, what is this little black box that its wired to? It looks suspiciously like an immobiliser, it was bolted up by the wiper motor. It says VOLVO 209 472 on one side, and SOLEX 18152 001 then 89 05 01 under that on the other side...

1.4 engine swap in progress
Hey guys, doing my engine swap at the moment. Being a bloody nightmare due to rounded downpipe bolts and the fact I cant get the grinder into the tunnel to cut the old prop off.. Is there any way to get the bellhousing off the engine, or just disconnecting it, while the engine is still in the car so...
