Windshield washing fluid tank suddenly empties itself
So my Volvo 340GL 1990 has a problem with the windshield washing fluid tank. After fully filling it with washing fluid and spraying some on the windshield 4-5 times, the tank suddenly empties itself. The fluid drains down towards the front of the car from under the tank. Is there some switch or knob...

Re: Water inside rear blinker casing
Where are these nuts? Under the panel that has access to the lightbulbs?Ride_on wrote:You mean the rear light cluster, you can just remove the whole cluster and face it up. There are just 3 nuts the light holders just pull out.

Re: Milometer broken after fixing it
Been analyzing the situation for a while now, and the milometer seems to be working fine, except at about 35-50km it stops and usually works again after letting it cool and starting the car again. Also there are random stops here and there at any mileage, but they usually last only a day.

Water inside rear blinker casing
Hi, I recently noticed that there is about 1cm of water at the bottom of the orange rear blinker casing. There are also lots of droplets on the inside side of the plastic. Currently this seems to have no effect on anything, but I'd like to remove the water before it gets any colder here so it wont f...

Re: Milometer broken after fixing it
Yup I already fixed the gear dropping off of the worm wheel, I just glued and taped a piece of hard plastic to block the topmost number wheel from sliding to the side, but still allowing it to rotate. Its just that it only worked for a while (around 380km), and then stopped working again. Though thi...

Re: Milometer broken after fixing it
Replacement part seems to be about 50€+20€ postage, which is quite a hefty sum for such a small problem. I'll drive a bit more and open it once more and see if I find anything unusual.

Milometer broken after fixing it
So I fixed my milometer following the guide in http://www.volvo300mania.com/uk/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4147 , but now it has stopped working again. First time I just opened the instrument panel again and noticed there was nothing out of ordinary to be seen, and just put it back together. Then again to...

Handbrake stuck on one drum and other leaking brake fluid
Hi, My 340GL has had problems with this before, the lever behind the drum which releases handbrake on the right rear drum brake does not return to its released state. I've fixed it once by opening the drum and hammering and oiling the lever and other components until it moves properly again, but now...

Re: Gaining access to mileometer, 340GL -90
Hello, the choke knob will unscrew with some effort. Do you mean the black plastic knob will unscrew from the metal bar or the whole thing unscrews from the base? Just to be sure since I don't want to break anything. the black plastic knob unscrews, use a pair of pillars to hold the metal wire stil...

Gaining access to mileometer, 340GL -90
Hi! I have a -90 Volvo 340GL and my milometer (total km driven) has been stuck at 68k for the last few months and I'd like to get it fixed before the next yearly mandatory checkup. I've read the guide on how to fix the meter itself, but I couldn't find a way to get the meter out of the instrument pa...
