Ha ha ha love it that someone else has done this. I won some train air horns on eBay and stuck them under the hood with compressor and air tank in the boot with a solenoid there as well. It is so loud.....
I used it on a cancer council fund raiser car rally through outback Aus

Re: Door seal question
Hey I did the same on my 360 and just bought some trim rubber from Clarks Rubber in Victoria Aust which was about $13 AU per metre.
It did the trick very well and kept the aussie outback dust out.

Re: 360 GLT raising the beast a bit
Sorry Kennet I have been very slack and not posted how to do it. I have also missplaced my little drawing I made of how to modify a front shock out of a Camry V6. Very similar I just needed a different nut for the top but machined up a 30mm bolt head with part of the bolt shaft on it and tapped out ...

Re: Milometer broken after fixing it
Hmm my trip meter has also gone on the blink. It will work for around 30-50kms then just finish for the day. Sometimes it will work for only 1-2 kms but normally once it cools down it will work again but not for long. I can't get the darn thing apart, the clear plastic bit with the wheels and number...

Re: 360 GLT raising the beast a bit
I did it! Photos to come yet. I cut some rubber (spare bits from work!!!) and put it on top of the top strut mounts which raised the car about an inch. I also modified the top of the strut mount as I used a 92-97 camry strut which I had to turn down a bit to fit my new design. I have access to a lat...

360 GLT raising the beast a bit
Hi All rather than hijacking an old post here is a new one. I've been wanting to raise the front and rear an inch or two and now have the means/parts to do it. I ordered new strut cartridges today 87-93 Toyota Camry front shocks slightly longer than standard as the old shocks are shot. Looks like 24...

Re: Diff oil in front shocks.
Hi guys thanks for the info, I need to do this for nearly next to nothing as the rally is called the shitbox rally for cars less than $1000. I have some old Holden booster strings for the back to cope with the extra gear we will carry. I am yet to pull the front struts out to see if they are gas or ...

Re: Diff oil in front shocks.
Great info on here guys, I am looking to recondition mine to cope with a lot of rough dirt/gravel/rock driving along outback Aussie "roads" I also want to raise the car by an inch (ish) so the bigger wheels/tyres will fit without scrubbing the guards (inner guards) . If anyone has some info to help ...

Re: Hello From Australia Victoria Rokeby.
Ha ha "private road" yes I'm sure under controlled conditions too. I'm not interested in making it faster I just want the old thing to make it so that will be the fastest I will make it go, the Razzers would catch me and I'd be walking to Cairns! The only things I need to do now is to armour plate t...

Re: Milometer broken after fixing it
Hiya again I got mine working, but the speedo is a little out the other way now :-( I'm doing 110kms at 102 indicated) bother, it all comes out again ... SSSU1 The only thing a stuck speedo could be that I can think of is something has dropped in it and jammed it up - maybe good luck with it. Rip it...

Re: Hello From Australia Victoria Rokeby.
Hiya across the ditch there (I am a regular visitor to windy wellytown) I am not sure what rims will fit yet as I'm still tyre kicking at the moment. I thought they were 32mm offset (read it somewhere) but no hurry I'm waiting for a cam belt to arrive so I can resume driving it. (known unknown how l...

Re: Hello From Australia Victoria Rokeby.
I was thinking of getting toyota steel rims if they fit and using them as alloys do have a habit of breaking. I've got five alloys if anyone is after them....

Re: Hello From Australia Victoria Rokeby.
Ah now your taking the fun out of it if I have to take that many spares It has to break down and we do some really dodgy repairs on the side of the road to fix it. This years rally they replaced a motor in an old escort van and got it going - on the side of the road! lifting it in by hand and one gu...
