Re: Sluggish Starting after a run

Thanks for the replies, very helpful. Hadn't occurred to me about the fuel pressure but this seems very plausible and exactly as described i.e when hot it takes a bit of cranking which suggest clearing of vapour and the system pressure restoring. I have had a look through the manual scans from here,...

Re: Sluggish Starting after a run

Yeah, no worries, I am thinking it is along the lines of the injectors. When the restrictions are lifted it will be getting a dose of injector treatment to see if that improves things. I might reconnect the cold start injector and see what that does. Read somewhere about the thermo switch being faul...

Sluggish Starting after a run

Hi All, Still getting used to my 360, not really had a decent run out in it as yet (and unlikely for another while now.....) Anyway, the previous owner reported it would sometimes need a fair bit of cranking after it had been out a run. On Sunday I had it out for a short run and while it started col...

Re: Battery connections queries

Managed a bit more cable tracing today and the three unknown positive terminal wires have been staring me in the face the whole time....didn't I forget that my car has a Volvo towbar with twin socket!! So the three cables seem to run to the back of the car and look like they feed the white caravan s...

Re: Battery connections queries

Hi Jon, No power steering but a good point for sure. Yeah, there is definitely a fuel pump involved and likely the fog lights are tapped off this black crimped connector, nice to know its original. If I replace the cable it would be good to replace with something similar but I think I will have to m...

Battery connections queries

Hi All, Continuing service and tidying jobs to my recently acquired GLT, I noticed the battery to starter terminal was needing remade as a few of the strands had snapped and my OCD was getting the better of me!! :D I have a new length of cable ready to fit but noticed there is a black double connect...

Re: Heater blower metal clips

Thanks for the reply Jon. As it turned out I got a few from someone via FB and just yesterday I have ordered a few bits from Onderdelen so I added a few clips to my order. Should have plenty now and a few spares. Will be putting the blower assembly back together next week. The leaking heater valve i...

Heater blower metal clips

I have my heater blower unit removed and have noticed I am missing a few of the metal clips. Some of the ones I have are fairly rusty/weakened. Looking for a few spares to complete the set and replace the weak ones, or ideally a full set and I can make a good set up from what I have. PM me if you ca...

Re: Heater fan blower unit removal 1987 360

Got the blower unit removed tonight with relative ease. There are two large screws to the bulkhead, and down inside the duct there is a 10mm nut/stud. Remove these and the whole unit can be carefully pulled away. Pull the vacuum tube off and disconnect the fan plug and manouvre the unit around the h...

Re: Heater fan blower unit removal 1987 360

No probs, the cover itself looks fiddly with the various small metal clips. Visions of clips snapping or pinging off and getting lost...!
Apparently its just 3 screws and disconnect the vacuum pipe for the heater control and the plug for the fan.

Heater fan blower unit removal 1987 360

Looking to remove the blower unit from the engine bay to give better access to my leaky heater control valve. Looks easy enough according to Haynes but I can't find the 3rd screw which is apparently inside the car ? I have found the two screws at the bulkhead but where is the 3rd screw located ? (Pr...

Re: Tyre Choice...?

Thanks Steve.....Had Uniroyals about 20 years ago on an old Escort I had, they were good mid range tyres. Think I will stick with my original plan and try out Vredesteins - I have had an indication of a possible set of Leo's available and am waiting on a reply. Will await the outcome of that before ...
