Maybe a contact starts to work because of thermal expansion?
You should probably try removing the clock and try to feed it 12 volts and see if it starts with better contacts.

Have you checked the tire pressure they applied? I was told 2.1 bars were put on both front and rear tires, checked them and they were 2.5 bar in all four. Lowered them to the suggested 1.9 and 2.1 bars and the heavy steering was there again. 8)
