Re: Boot compartment doors / flaps

The accessories are great to have, but they go wrong it's a big hunt for parts ... Someone broke off one of my electric mirrors on the GLT a few years back (probably while driving past) and I was glad to have a spare LHD one ready in the old parts stash. If it happens again, it's back to manual for ...

Re: Boot compartment doors / flaps

Thanks Tom, will check that out - was it the 300 Mania FB page ? The only ones I have seen are NOS items which are outwith my budget, a good used set would be ideal. Cheers Dave Yes, that's probably where I saw them! NOS and a lot of money ;-) There are two different designs of cavity covers, Volvo...

Re: Boot compartment doors / flaps

They were an add on accessory called "cavity covers" ... I think I saw some for sale recently in a facebook post.

Re: Ambient Temperature Gauge and Sensor fitting

+1 to everything bogbasic said! Engaging the steering lock makes it easier to unbolt the nut as well. There's a metal strip securing the top of the instrument cluster to the dashboard, unscrew this, gently undo the speedo cable from behind, and the whole cluster pops forward, hanging by the multiplu...

Re: Ambient Temperature Gauge and Sensor fitting

Ahead of installing a recently acquired ambient temperature gauge I have been sussing out the wiring via the helpful posts on here. Would I be correct in saying the white connector plug in the pic, located below the air filter housing is the coiled up sensor cable ? I assume I will find the other e...

Very nice, I love reading this :-) Fantatic work on all that detail, I like the way you resurrected the stickers ...
I agree about the "tide mark", nothing freshens up the look of the car, than getting rid of that.

Cheers

I believe it's something to do with the airflow at the front of the car?

SPOTTED: rare 345 GLS "2.0 5 Speed" for sale in Hungary

Pity about the condition, but this is in fact a very rare car: https://suchen.mobile.de/fahrzeuge/details.html?id=259102637 B19 engine in a "Mk2 phase 1" with the old style dash (never offered on the UK market) and with a 5 speed gearbox too (only as standard when they were rebadged "360" in the '83...

Re: Volvo 340 GL - 1983 from Portugal

Hi JFB, I don't think it's the green book you need to go through, the installation instructions are in the blue leaflets that go with the accessory kits. Try this post for details: http://www.volvo300mania.com/uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=7286 Installing them should be easy enough for a mechanic (I ...

Re: '85 360 GLS

Hi Steve,

only the early B19s will be different, I guess it's probably not relevant for the UK market as CH 710000- is 1983 model year onwards ...

Look forward to seeing how you get on!

Re: '85 360 GLS

Hi Steve, - Does anyone have VADIS and can confirm whether a carbed fuel tank is the same between a 1985 360 GLS fitted with the B200K and a 1988 360 GLE saloon fitted with the same engine. I'm guessing yes... the idea is to 'refurb' my spare tank and swap them over. I just checked the parts catalog...

Re: erm ok then

Well, he's being very honest about the condition of the car! The original bodykit is so rare, that I'm sure the lot will sell eventually. But probably not for 600 pounds ;-)
