I finally went to a garage recommended by the local Volvo Club; he just swapped the motor with one from his 'Volvo graveyard' and problem fixed! It's still a slow process to get the window up or down.. I suspect the frame may be slightly out of shape. But apart from that, and the misfire that tok me...

Hi all: After replacing the exploded muffler, the coil, the plugs, the coil lead, the dist cap and eventually finding the someone with the right rotor button, and still not fixing the misfire, I finally decided to check the 'cheap and obvious'. Sure enough, lead no 3 was not working - AU$5 later, wi...

Hi everyone The GLT is still running SO badly! I thought replacing the rotor button and distributor cap would be a fairly straightforward exercise, but I was wrong. I've managed to find a cap, but the rotor button seems impossible to source! One of the better local parts places searched for about th...

James, mine is actually the '85 GLT so it does have the Renix unit. I may have to look at the 'unit' after I eliminate the 'cheaper' causes. My first surprise in this regard was the difficulty in finding a rotor button and distributor cap. When the usual car part places couldn't help I tried Bosch A...

Noise from the rear-left.. Mystery solved!
You guys may remeber a problem I had a few months ago with a rubbing, grinding noise from the rear-left of my 360GLT when cornering right, especially with passengers or any other load in the back. My assumption at the time was a worn or loose wheel bearing.. Well, it actually turned out to be the re...

Injectors
Tha's right.. no carbs. I've tried putting a couple of bottles of injector cleaner through the system (not all at once :D ) but there was no appreciable improvement. We had some very heavy rains here in Melbourne recently, which brought my 360 to a halt on the morning freeway run to work. When I was...

Hey there: Maybe it's a thing with Australian 360 GLTs, because mine's been running rough since about a week after I bought it, in fact, from the moment I filled the tank with Optimax. I immediately contacted Shell and Volvo Australia to clear up the suitable petrol question, and both of them respon...

Driver's side power window stuck open
Hi everyone: The front windows on my 360GLT are power operated.. at least they should be, and they were until about a week ago. After 3 or 4 episodes of 'sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't', it now doesn't work at all, and the window is stuck in the open position. To check the switch, I swappe...

Thanks for the feed back everyone. And Keith, yes it was my mistake- we drive on the same side of the road as you and yes, the noise is from the left as I make a right hand turn. I wasn't confused about where the noise was coming from; just about knowing my left from my right! I'll try the test for ...

Bumpy, grindy, expensive-sounding noises from the rear susp?
Greetings all: Most of the time, my 360GLT is the quiet, docile, well-manered beast you would expect it to be. But on the rare occasions that I have any load in the back seat or boot area, any turn to the right results in a horrible grinding rubbing noise from the rear of the car, from the vicinity ...

Hi everyone! Well, I've finally reduced the sizeof my pics to a size that my internet provider will allow on my homepage, so here at last are some images of my 360GLT: http://members.optusnet.com.au/~lawrencemoore/100_0407.jpg http://members.optusnet.com.au/~lawrencemoore/100_0403.jpg http://members...
