Re: Boot compartment doors / flaps

The boot trays are less useful than they look. They leave a very exposed rear wall of plastic when you fold down the seats, so you can't really leave it in all the time and they take up masses of room when they are out!

Re: Ambient Temperature Gauge and Sensor fitting

Cheers Dave. Bumper off is easy enough, when you've done it once before  The below is for a mk3 Hoses off the headlamp washers, thread them through the little metal clampy holders at the base of the arms 7mm socket to remove the bolt holding the headlamp wiper arms on, gently pull off pop the s...

Re: Ambient Temperature Gauge and Sensor fitting

Bit late to the party, but if the plug is under the bonnet (that is the correct one) you shouldn't have to look under the dash. Late 340s normally have the plugs under the dash, but not the extra loom in the engine bay. I did one yesterday, been a few years since the last! I have a couple of photos ...

Great catalogue! Odd the catalogue photo for bodykit (photo 22, near the beginning) doesn't look like it has a bodykit!

Thanks for scanning

Re: Fake - F7R Motorsport Daily

Are we talking faster than normal Chris time scale for this? Well... not sure what to answer to that. Foggy standard time no less. The company who were doing one of the custom components had issues friction welding them due to the diameter of the torque tube inner (the drive quill) and went bust, w...

Re: Vehicle Speed Sensors

I presume this is unloaded without the computer connected. Indeed, just the scope probe. I would imagine the ECU itself was a high impedance input so should be relatively similar? I didn't realise the 440 would be working on 10V, I think the 940 is working on a 12v signal, I must recheck that, but ...

Re: Vehicle Speed Sensors

So, firstly an apology to Ride_On. It's taken me a ChrisStandardTimePeriod to get to this. There are only a few pictures as I didn't have my camera nearby and had to use my phone. First job was to take the 400 series dash and work out what the power supply section was doing to the standard sensor. h...

Re: Disheartened after work on carb/HG, advice needed

Do not fit a Weber (well, if you are meaning the Weber replacement they made for the Solex, it's worse by an epic margin. DCOE might be acceptable as long as you only ever use full throttle.) The major thing I'd worry about in that post is you say it's dumping neat fuel into the chamber. Which chamb...

That switch is rear fogs, not that it matters other than the picture!

Penny pinching or just couldn't be bothered? You could see where they didn't spray on my June '91 car

Re: Duchess The Volvo 340 CVT

You are doing a brilliant job here chap, the rust was bound to pop up at some point though. I've had one of those engine beam bolts snap on pretty much every one I've removed, each time I've added more penetrating oil for more days before hand and heated it up, still always gone.
