Re: F7P Plastic Plug Lead Cover WTD

The little plastic retaining screws drop out and they fall off. They're cheap at Renault though (or they were 2 years ago)

Re: Clio 16v *I gone and blowed it up*

What else had you done to the engine to do that GrP A williams only revved to 8200........ formula renaults only rev to 7200, and they chuck rods at that RPM.... Adam It was my mate that built it as part of a uni project. I think he chopped a load of weight off the stock rods, the pistons were cust...

Re: Clio 16v *I gone and blowed it up*

My old valver reliably revved to 8500rpm with a lightened and balanced bottom end and ARP stud kit. Sounded nice too.

Re: Clio 16v *I gone and blowed it up*

What are you doing with the engine that blew John? I was gonna bid on that one in Barnsley but i'll let you have a go as you need it more than me. However I need a mockup engine and yours could be just the ticket.

Re: Using a 340 transaxle in a different car.

I've owned a couple of Clio 16v's and hybrids in the past. My last 16v ran a 14.9 @ 99mph with a stock engine, de-cat and the interior stripped, so in a lightweight hot rod I reckon it'd crack the 13s easy, especially with RWD too. Has anybody got a photo of a 1.7 sump? I want to see what the engine...

Re: Using a 340 transaxle in a different car.

Well i've just taken the dog for a walk past the abandoned 340 and its a 1.7 model. Gonna knock on the owners door and try to procure it should be perfect for my needs - its rusty as feck so not worth saving.

Re: Using a 340 transaxle in a different car.

What differences are there with the sump? Theres an abandoned 340 over the road gonna see if I can get it. Does anybody know the overall height of the 16v engine?

Using a 340 transaxle in a different car.

I'm thinking of building a hot rod using a Clio 16v engine and a 340 transaxle and torque tube. I've been reading up and it says you need a 1.7 Bellhousing, sump, clutch and engine mountings. As its not going into a 340, will I get away with just using the 1.7 Bellhousing and clutch? Also, how much ...

Lots of Wheels, 13x10 Revos, 13x8 Compos etc etc

Set of Four 13x10" Revolution 4 spokes These are very high quality wheels and weigh next to bugger all. They've all been fully refurbed with the rim/dish polished but the centres are still in primer so can be finished to whatever colour the buyer chooses. They're 4 x 3.75" PCD with 4" backspace so ...
