Re: Coolant Sensor(s)
Coolant sensor for the ECU is screwed into the head, on the side, towards the back end of the engine. There are two sensors there, and the coolant sensor is the one furthest forward. Don't get it confused with the thermal time switch for the cold start injector which has a plug which pulls on and of...

Re: Fuel reserve
Fuel light is supposed to come on when there's about 5 litres left, but in practice, I reckon it comes on a bit sooner, when there's about 8-10 litres, but it probably varies car to car. I emptied a petrol tank once on a 360 because it was very old fuel and not much of it, and it took two 5l jerry c...

Its not a disaster, a radiator specialist will be able to reattach it for you when they do the recore.

Re: new car YAY!!!!
Rear lights will be earthing faults in the clusters. Search on here for solutions on how to clean them up and get them all working again. 90% likely not to be the switch in the gear lever, unless its so far out of adjustment or sloppy that the switch isn't being activated. Its easy to check anyways ...

Re: Greetings from Down Under
WTF.. .thats yet another Aussie GLT with the heater resistor pack in the random place (not the first, the DVS strut brace has a cut out for it here http://www.dvs.net.au/360brace1.jpg) Sorry I can't be more use on the EGR though, I've never seen a car with it :S Resistor packs are like that on Mk2s...

Re: VOC BKV 2012
For something like that to work, it would need an unbelievable amount of preparation to make sure it didn't go pear shaped on the day. Kudos to you if you've got the time to do it. Far better would be to film and edit a video of someone doing it in a tutorial style. Then you can cut out all the bori...

For me too. Cleaned up my crank sensor signal beautifully.jtbo wrote:I think that shielding was meant to be connected at one end only in that, which was weird for me, however it did make occasional misses go away. Who knows what other benefits such may have.

Re: prop shaft
Definitely check the engine mounts, but if they're OK then it might just be a perished prop. The rubber can get perished.

Re: steering rack rep-lacement
Before you go to all that trouble, make sure that the rubber connector that connects the steering column to the rack is in good condition. The rubber rots and the metal rusts, and the result is very sloppy steering. They used to be available from Volvo, but of course are no longer, so dunno where yo...

Re: reflector problem
AFAIK, 240 ones won't fit. I think someone looked into the possibility of getting the reflectors resurfaced, dunno if anybody remembers. Sometimes NOS ones crop up on ebay, but otherwise its a case of trawling scrappies until you find a car with headlights in good shape. Trouble is that either you g...

Re: Mk1 having carb/misfiring issues not holding constant re
I would suspect the carb throttle plate bushes have worn and are letting air in at certain throttle positions. Quite often this will be the 'light cruise' area where the car will have spent most of its time, but sometimes it can be the idle area too. If you have a blowtorch (cut the giggling at the ...

Re: Gear lever rod to bell housing
The pin has a kind of 'bracket' attached to it at the other end from the circlip end....if you get what I mean. Get something behind this part and pry the bar across. You don't have to get it all the way out, just out of the other end because the holes are slotted, so you should be able to winkle th...

Re: 360 Rear brake re-assembly
The brake pipes go feed in bottom, bleeder or other in top. The self adjusters, I can't remember either, but if you put it all together and play with the trailing shoe, as you push it in and out, the teeth will ratchet round and then you'll be able to see which way you need to go. I have a feeling t...

Re: 340 DL B14 Clutch problems
I think sadly you have to pull the bellhousing off. Depending on clearance, you might just be able to winkle the bellhousing past the exhaust, otherwise you'll have to take that off too. Its not all that much work, but yeah I know its a PITA for a tiny thing. I once had to rethread the long brake li...
