Re: I haaave a dream.

[threadjack] Yes it is thanks. I'm camped in Cape Leveque, WA at the moment, and then I'll be heading down to Perth. [/threadjack]

Re: I haaave a dream.

Mac I don't think there's any chance that won't win best 300 in show next year! The question is will it win overall best in show......there's a challenge :D BTW: the subframe bolts are loctited in AND a bit too long to make the part that comes through the welded inserts corrode, with enough heat fro...

Re: B200k running-on

It'll be an over rich fuel mixture I bet. I'm surprised it managed to run at all with the idle solenoid connected. Normally they cut out completely, but the solenoid is definitely not your problem. What is your idling speed set to? Should be about 900rpm too high and that can cause it. Sounds like y...

Re: What type of engine do I have?

It'll definitely be a B200E. The important thing is will it be a high compression or a low compression. "D" reg is not enough information, because C/D reg is when it changed over. You'll need the model year which can be found on the chassis number. The number goes something like XLB344xxxHx123456. W...

Re: Odd size fuel pipe?

Halfords always used to have it, but in the thicker fuel injection pipe. The thicker stuff lasts longer, but is much more of a PITA to fit, because as Alex says you have to bend it through the gromits.

Re: 360 carb fuel consumption..

Holy thread bump!! Anyways, reading back a couple of posts, the reason a later B200E/F with the LU jet has less power, is because of the cat, stifling the flow of gases through the exhaust, but that doesn't cause the poor fuel consumption. No, that is caused by the delight that is the Pulsair and EG...

Re: Firing order for injectors

If the crank pulley is going back and forth then its knacked I'm afraid. Its fancy name is 'harmonic balancer.' If you look closely you'll see its not actually a solid pulley, but two pulleys pressed together with a rubber donut between them. Its done to damp the vibrations from the crank pulley. Tr...

Re: volvo 340 GL cvt high revving (HELP)

Hiya, no the clutch plates won't be easy to rotate, you'll be turning the whole engine so will be stiff I'm afraid. Sometimes its easier for someone to turn the engine from the front pulley whilst you give instructions from underneath, if you get what I mean ;) Measure the gap by pulling off the cov...

Yeah, I honestly can't remember either, but I've got a huge box spanner that does the job.

Re: Heater blowing hot on cold setting

That part of the system is entirely the same, A/C or no A/C. The other possibility is that the cable has jumped off or bent up at the other end, where the lever for adjusting the temperature is. I've seen that a few times too, particularly where the cable has rusted up and some numpty has just force...

Re: volvo 340 GL cvt high revving (HELP)

Just to echo the other comments on here, all the de-clutching servo does is push the release bearing into the clutch slightly more so that instead of engaging at 1100 RPM it engages at approx 2500. Honestly don't bother fiddling with the vacuum system any more, just get onto the clutch. I bet you it...

Re: volvo 340 GL cvt high revving (HELP)

95% certain its the clutch adjustment mate. All the CVT's I've come across have had completely knackered clutches, because they weren't looked after by the previous owners or owners garages. Clutch adjustment needs to be checked once a year or every 10,000 miles and then adjusted if necessary. Troub...
