Steering Vibration Damper

Got round to a small job this weekend, replacing the steering coupling vibration damper. The original was showing signs of cracking and with reports of steering vagueness and eventual failure of this item I decided to get it changed over. Ended up using a Citreon BX item which is a direct swap, thin...

Re: 1.7 vapour separator hose routing.

Hope it all goes to plan. The state of the roads these days no wonder cars are breaking springs etc. My Skoda is away this morning to get the front suspension checked out after a nasty pothole strike. It was making some clanging / banging noises on sharp braking and going up my driveway..... Bracing...

Re: 360 carby fuel supply

Thats a fair point on the anti-freeze type. The proper blue stuff from Volvo isn't too expensive as an option. I had also looked at the Comma stuff but decided to stick with Volvo. Hopefully not be changing it out in a while ! Cheers D

Re: 360 carby fuel supply

Good you are back up and running.
The heater valve on mine started weeping not long after I got the car, replaced with a new/good one and its been ok since.
Hopefully some trouble free motoring ahead ?!!

Re: 360 carby fuel supply

Good progress Jon, another problem sorted... Although, not good news on your 1.7 strut, assume its the spring cup that's cracked or rusted ? I am sure somewhere supplies replacements to weld in, or possibly even recon units. I got the engine oil and filter done today, nothing too difficult. Had a th...

Re: 360 carby fuel supply

Getting there Jon. I had never done a water pump on a car before but found it straightforward enough. Trickiest bit was trying to get the new pump securely pushed up against the head to compress the O ring gasket and keeping it in position while the nuts were tightened up. Also, making sure the seal...

Re: 360 carby fuel supply

Hi Jon, Nice update, pity about the 360 pump but at least that is a relatively easy fix ? Have you done one before ? I hadn't realised how big an impact the ULEZ will have, seems draconian measures to those who are enthusiasts or classic owners. How is it administered, you would think there would be...

Re: Aussie 360GLT - New To This Forum

Steve - Yeah, definitely a weekend car and not having it keeps it simpler I guess, less to go wrong or leak fluid everywhere lol I'm having a battle with the gearbox filler plug just now so thats the current problem. Jon - I think I have read your posts on that upgrade, pretty cool, I must re-visit ...

Re: Aussie 360GLT - New To This Forum

Jon, Yes I was quite surprised with what I found out. I have the original PDI sheet for the car which had the address of the original owner. A small place called 'Gedling'.... I did some Facebook digging and found a group for the town of Gedling and stuck a post up asking if anyone had heard of the ...

Re: Aussie 360GLT - New To This Forum

Looking good...! Mine is a 1987 GLT, same spec no air con or power steering, maybe one of the last without power steering....less to go wrong I guess. I found out a fair bit of history on my car, the owner who bought it new was quite well known in horse racing and went on to win the Horse of the Yea...

Steve - Pity you might be selling the GLS, and a pity I have no additional storage for another 300

Re: It all went HORRIBLY renix !

Interesting post, looks like the Renix was never meant to be serviced or repaired with all that filler ! Not sure on that mystery component but will see if I can find out. I imagine someone might have a copy of the actual Renix internal circuit diagram somewhere which would be handy, I expect it has...

Re: 90s videos.... Drive a Box - Buy Volvo....!

Hi, Yeah just rewatched that, the video quality is poor, kinda looks like the reflection from the pavement ? The red paintwork looks nice and fresh/shiny, although an A reg in 1994 could quite possibly have had new arches ! My old J plate '91 Escort had new rear arches at 10 years old, good old Ford...
