Re: project 360
Sorry this was a surprise to you - I made a point of showing the hole under the battery to your old man before I took his money. I could never sell a guy a car with hidden faults, especially a comrade V3M'er. Shame the fuse box rust has resurfaced. Be careful with that one, any rust near the suspens...

Re: The Battleship, Williams, Sods law strikes my MoT!
Check it's not the bracket holding the switchgear - these are of crap design and bend and break. When you try to activate the highbeam, the whole assembly just twists and bends, so the switch doesn't get thrown. I've never seen the switchgear itself go bad, but there's a first time for everything. Y...

I'm pretty sure they only test the lights with the engine running. The loose spare is probably a fail though

Re: Any full throttle horror stories?
Had a throttle stick on my 3.5 Ton Renault-Dodge van once going up the M1 one night Me: "Throttle's stuck" Mate:  "Oh Christ" Me: "It's okay, we'll just wait until we run out of fuel" Again, accelerator pedal was caught under the rubber matting - managed to hook the pedal out with my fo...

Re: koni adjustables help?!?!
There's a Koni leaflet in that big wad of paperwork I gave you - i think I had them set to 3 half turns out of a possible 5 - can't remember how many clicks there are but they're set at a little over half maximum stiffness. So will go quite a bit stiffer! There are holes in the casing to stick a wee...

Well done getting it sorted
I think there was a receipt in with the bearing - get in touch with Highland Auto Parts, Inverness for a refund.

Re: steering wheels help
I bent the stalks on that car so they don't catch - you can always bend them a little more, but remove them from the column and clamp them up in a vice before you try. But fair enough if you don't like the grandad spec wooden look  Your dad seemed to like it, and I'm sure he'd put it to good use

Glad you're making progress with the old beast. I chucked in a tube of Tigerseal if you choose to put the rubbing strip back on
