Re: CVT warning lamp & buzzer service bulletin

On a similar topic...Any idea where the warning buzzer is located on a 1986 vario? I have the flashing red light but no buzzer sounding. Where is this buzzer usually located?

Wanted Bumper grills for 1986 Vario

Hi

Just a quick ask, does anyone out there have a pair of the bumper grills for the Vario cooling slots for sale? I'm looking for some as I'm getting tired of sucking the leaves out with the wife's hoover.

Cheers

Re: Torn between my Proton Persona and my 360

Cheers mac, a fan of the ax? Or just citroens/french in general? Obvious not a fan of the AX. I can understand why some like them, but they're not my cup of tea. Crisp packets are sturdier in construction. They are quick because they are a similar weight to a crisp packet. I have driven one some ye...

Re: 340 Vario for sale

I reckon it's a fair price too given the condition. If you keep it til something fails I think you might have it for a while ;) Found myself saying that the 340 is better than a MK2 Golf on another internet forum....I stand by that statement, having owned a MK2 Golf, the Volvo is much better made a...

Re: 340 Vario for sale

Went under the back end of my Vario Volvo last weekend to do its 6k mile belt adjust. OMG. Lovely new genuine Volvo vario belts there, with Volvo in raised letters on the belts and Hecho en Mexico stamped across them. Pulleys faces in good condition and belts showing no abnormalities and in A1 condi...

Re: 340 Vario for sale

That looks clean and tidy, how many miles on the clock? On the clock 39K, but I made the mistake of pressing the trip reset whilst moving and have caused the standard Volvo 340 speedo issue, and the numbers stopped rotating, speedo works though. The car is lightly used (hence for sale) so I estimat...

Bootlid Volvo badge needed

Some thieving urchins have made off with the Volvo Badge from the rear of my 1986 340.

Does anyone out there have a spare they can let me have?

Cheers

Re: 1979 Volvo 343DL Automatic 4700 Miles 1 Owner For Sale

So some mug spunked nearly 900 on it, realised it wasn't that good and is now putting it on ebay? Or is this the owner trying to flog it after it failed to make reserve?

Re: Rad replacement 1986 Volvo 340 1.4

Well we've got the car back on the road now after a brief panic when the temp gauge swung over to red and gave multiple flashes of the warning bulb. Turns out the temp sender sensor was also incorrect (even though the correct one according to the parts books!), resolved this by fitting the old one b...

Re: Rad replacement 1986 Volvo 340 1.4

These are exceptionally old cars, existing in ever decreasing numbers, many suppliers do not know the correct application or are providing something close in order to take your money. The answer is to double check everything, don't take a suppliers word, check part numbers, compare sizes and don't ...

Re: Rad replacement 1986 Volvo 340 1.4

Well this is now getting farcical. With the new rad in, the spare wheel now will not fit under the bonnet! What the hell? It seems that the outlet pipe is now just a fraction higher up and this means that it fouls on the spare wheel. I'm going to have to use this rad for now, but can anyone advise m...

Re: Rad replacement 1986 Volvo 340 1.4

Hi Volvo mania Well the Volvo stamped rad in the car was 17mm thick and the replacement was 33mm. The 33mm thick rad was correct so I was told for the chassis number. SO I'm puzzled. As it stands I need the car back in service so this new rad has to go in. Therefore I need to obtain the correct moun...
