Re: Brake Upgrades

So I have been working with Olof Eriksson who is redoing the A170/190 adaptor in Solidworks. So for the adaptor we have the following quotes from 3Dhubs CNC 1=£142 4=£310 10=£500 Material doesn't make a huge difference and I'd prefer mild Steel Other costs Disk machining = £25 (2 disks) Mercedes use...

Re: Central Locking

I might have one. Its not an actuator, just a switch I think.

Re: 360 Front stabiliser bar

I have a few of these used after swapping to the uprated Mk2 fit, could probably dig one out.

They are handed, which side do you need?

Re: Fan issue.

I think if you don't know how to do that you should take it to a mechanic. Changing parts randomly is never a good idea. The sensor is just a switch, by shorting it temporarily you can determine if the switch is the problem or not. Just stick a screwdriver across the terminals or stick a bit of wire...

Re: Volvo 360 GLT from Portugal

If that is a high compression one (10:1) they really kick ass in the low end, but you might need octane booster.

Engine pics please!

Did you get a user manual with it?

Re: Brake Upgrades

Well adaptor prototype in PLA fitted after a little extra material removal and retapping my incorrectly designed threads. Everything fits nice in 15" wheels but not 14". A set of 4 pots fix caliper would be better. Also a little worried about thin section of the merc disk where the bolts go through....

Re: 360 turbo saloon tidy up

Yeah the radiator shroud is just to make the fan more efficient at idle/low speed IMO, maybe protect the disti from water. It blocks it at high speed where I am having the temperature rise (max throttle track etc). I am feeling confident the rad mods (removing 1-2cm of blocking material top and bott...

Re: 360 turbo saloon tidy up

Its been nearly a year since the last update on this thread. So been drag racing and track daying still then laid up for the winter, a one off film shoot (street dressing in a local period film). I've added a manual fuel pressure regulator so I can turn the boost up more (15psi now), although drag t...

Re: New Member: Canberra, Australia.....

Some info in my build thread:

Mine works nicely as a road/show car but a little stressed as a track car, so depends what you want to do.

Re: CV joint uprating thoughts

I'm thinking atm my problem is this red CV2 grease, its too dry. Seems its better sticking with standard CV grease. Correction, I'm going to go with leakage at the flange. This time I made sure it was clean and tightened progressively and diagonally, also went around twice with the torque wrench. Ha...

Re: 343, wont heavy engine ruin it?

The 5speed gearbox is only different at the back, where the 5speed extension is. The front of the 360 gearbox is slightly different to the 340 to mate with the 360 torque tube. So you need at least the front part, I don't know if it will fit the M45. If you want decent power and reliability you need...

Re: CV joint uprating thoughts

The axle box section has about 6-7mm clearance in radius to the axle base. So allowing for the cover max 6mm, or max 12mm increase in diameter. Seems like a comfortable max is the 100mm, with 108 perhaps needing a small clearance groove cut from the axle. The Porsche 930 seems popular at 108mm, but ...

Re: CV joint uprating thoughts

I'm not sure I'd be going along this route - you might just move the problem elsewhere and break the halfshaft, output flanges, T/T link piece or something else instead :D Yes you move the problem to the next weakest point, but you move it UP torque :) I've never heard anyone breaking a half shaft ...

Re: CV joint uprating thoughts

Yeah you can get stuff made, but its expensive. £300 for shafts, £250 for 94mm joints (but probably the same strength) Incidentally I measured the OD as 94mm for the main CV outer, that controls the bolt pattern http://race.parts/Catalogue/Drivetrain/CV-Joints I think the joints are strong enough fo...

Engine position

Can anyone give me some measurements of the engine height? Just above the steering rack bracket (left hand side away from the pinion). I've had problems with the manual and PS rack getting hit by the sump when the front drops into a hole in the road. I've only a few mm clearance to the sump, and adj...
