damn it. i knew i should have asked last week. Brighton scrapyards are too much of a trek. If i can't get one it'll have to be a tow rope, and i find that idea a little scary. :?

Urgent 360 towbar

I was planning to get a towbar, but it was one of those "at some point" type things, but now my mate has scored a free fiat X1/9 that needs trailering a couple of hundred miles. So it's time to get one sorted sharpish. Ebay only seems to have saloon ones, is there a chance they' fit my hatch without...

That's amazingly bust. I was thinking of cutting a small square piece of steel to use as filler in the center, reducing the amount of welding. Maybe I'd be better off welding it MMA style, so I won't struggle to get the MIG torch in. But then i'd have the problems of excess spatter as discussed earl...

You're probably right about that. Anyway, i've decided an open diff will do for now, as it was raining on the way home from work and i had lots of fun

One of the major reasons i bought mine was knowing that other people would look down on it. It makes it ten times funnier when you smoke a corsa away from the lights, or overtake people sideways around the outside on a wet 2 lane roundabout!

yeah i was thinking of taking the diff off the car so i could clean it thoroughly and put new diff oil in it afterwards. I wouldn't want to wreck it. Maybe i'll try to get hold of a spare diff to try it with. Does anyone know where i can get one, or if anyone on here is selling one? :)

I'm definitely going to give it a try as soon as i have alternative transport to work (in case i wreck the diff completely). Cheers for the tips guys, would i be better off welding stick owing to the small size of the gap?

Yup, its an '85 fiero with a 2.5l throttle body injection 4cyl engine, producing a paltry 89Bhp! Hence the V8 plan. I'd seen fieros before and thought they were crap, but then i saw it on my mate's drive and had to have it. I'm sure some people on here know what that's like, when your drive's alread...

Surely you don't believe anyone actually voted for him do you?
Rigged by the CIA or whatever. If anyone actually did vote for him, they ought to be shot. At Bush. From a catapult.

Does anyone have detailed pictures to show me how to weld my diff? I'm a qualified welder, and can borrow a 3 phase mig-o-tron, but i just wouldn't know where to point my torch. :?

As well as an ARB, i mean. $213AU is currently equal to 85 pictures of the queen, so i'd be in if we could save on a bulk buy. If we ordered loads, maybe we could get V3M etched on them or something.
