Re: Pointless ignition (volvo 66)

Idle, no vacuum 3 degrees, Shell V-Power 99+ with lead additive. Champion plugs with 0.8mm CO2 was a typo, I meant CO. Changing the primary jet gave more power to upper revs. It pings with 6 degrees because the 123's advance curve is a lucky guess and more agressive that original. Didn't ping with p...

Re: Pointless ignition (volvo 66)

Ok...now it's installed. No problems what so ever. The 123-ignition distributor is an 100% match. All the electric wires and vacuum port are in the same angle and position. Easy to install. Much better idle and response. The C "DAF 130" advance map on 123 seems to be right. Adjusted the advance to 3...

Re: Pointless ignition (volvo 66)

Just got the 123 home. I try to install it this week...it looks like it will fit. Wish me luck!

Re: Head bolt patterns (intake&exhaust)

So Renault 5 turbo manifolds would fit directly?

Head bolt patterns (intake&exhaust)

How interchangable are intake and exhaust manifolds with B130->B14->B17 etc? I'm planning to fit double carbs with custom intake manifold in my B130 and I was wondering if 400-series turbo engine manifold would fit beneath it? And no I'm not turbocharging my show car...this is another project with D...

Re: CVT Belt Dimensions

I talked to Ammeraal Beltech representative here in Finland a few years a go and he told me that dimensions etc. in the belts can be patented. He suspected that DAF had patent for those exact belt dimensions and now it belongs to Volvo. We searched almost every belt that they manufactuted and nothin...

Re: Pointless ignition (volvo 66)

I almost certain that Park position came at 1976 or even 1975. I have 1976 user's manual in Finnish, German and English and they ALL have the P position covered, BUT the manual that came with my car doesn't cover the P. I have a few magazine articles that show the shifter without P. I was told that ...

Re: Pointless ignition (volvo 66)

Thanks. Bumpers aren't plastic. They're steel with plastic end caps at both sides. 1976 GLS already had the orange symbols on switch/stalk area. Also 1976 has a different mirror. It's still chrome but larger. 1978 came black mirrors. 1976 doorcards are a little different f.ex the little plastic thin...

Re: Pointless ignition (volvo 66)

The changes made would be interesting. My car is actually one of the "in-between-models" one of the very first ones with volvo badges.

All other stuff I already have.
The bumpers are original. Never repainted.

Re: Pointless ignition (volvo 66)

Yes I ordered this "The 123\RENAULT-4-R-V with upright cap for the Cleon engines" product. I'm fairly certain that it will fit because B130 is similar to other engines specified compatible. That "DAF 55" is most likely a typo that should say "DAF 66"... In a week we all know... Few new pics: (Huge i...

Re: Pointless ignition (volvo 66)

I agree. B130 is B130. There are dip switches on the distributor and there is "DAF" mentioned with 6 degrees advance.
That's the same amount as in my service manual.

Now I have to find a dealer. (for the distributor)

Re: Pointless ignition (volvo 66)

This is not B14. It's B130. As far I know there only one B130 used in these DAF/Volvos.

Pointless ignition (volvo 66)

Hi,

This product states B130 engine on the compatibility list.

http://www.123ignition.nl/id/44.html

So this would fit in my V66GL?
