Yay!
I did shower this morning so apparently it's not mold..
Nowadays I might not post that much during the weekdays as I did when I did have excessive amounts of spare time but will at least check the site every day if there's something which needs attention.

Re: Genuine R-sport kit
Nice find! I'll vote 1981 or 1982 343/345 OR 1983 / 1984 360 GLS with B19A, but preferrably with a B23 bottom end and carbs re-jetted to suit the increased displacement. ;) It doesn't sound much but the extra ~0,3 litres does make a difference even in the stock form. Even more with a nice exhaust sy...

Re: turbo 200e using B19 parts???
Internals are not interchangable between the blocks as the big end and crank lining are different and also the crank it self, but you can use the B19 block with the B200 head. :-P B19 has stronger con rods also so it's a plus. B2x0 series has weaker 9mm con rods untill about year models 90/91, after...

Re: Fuel pump relay
Stock fuel pump relay isn't a normal relay as it's a 5-pole relay and one of the poles is for the RPM signal. The relay won't power the fuel pump unless the engine is turning, so it won't power the pump with just the ignition on, the engine has to be turning also. Fuel gauge meter is just a variable...

Re: correct lubes for trans+final drive
Back in the day ATF was the recommened oil, mostly because it was pretty much the only everywhere commonly available oil which will function withouth any doubt at sub-zero temperatures with these kind of gearboxes. Mineral oils were widely used as engine and gearbox oils back then and believe me, if...

Jani those ant pictures are amazing! I haven't done much photograhpy lately. I'll have to redeem myself. :-P Few random shots and most of these are taken with a cellphone cam. Ice and fire. Burning of some cut down hawthorn and old parquet flooring. Pic taken with a Canon Powershot SX200 IS. ...

Re: What's happening in garages?
360 has been hibernating. Though there's some light ahead as I've bought ~200 euros worth of car polishing products, so the 360 will be polished at next month and I'll get it through MOT. It'll be nice to be driving the 360 again. 8) I've done some minor stuff for the S90. Like this a must-have whis...

Re: Fuse's 360GLT
Hot galvanized sheet metal is quite "neat" to weld. Electro galvanized becomes messy more easily as the galvanization burns away from larger areas more easily. Hot galvanized is more durable also as the zinc layer is thicker. Both are "self-correcting" to some point, hot galvanized better because th...

Re: Fuse's 360GLT
Main reason for galvanized is because I happen to have that in storage. :-P Better to store than normal mild steel, as the normal mild steel gathers surface rust very quickly from air moisture alone. But even though weld seams will be non galvanized, there's still some advantage when replacing large...

Re: Fuse's 360GLT
Everything's been delayed but the car hasn't been abandoned! I've been quite busy with other stuff so the car has been hibernating through the winter. I did start and ran it for a while regularly during the winter though to keep everything in order. It started every time untill the 2004 labelled bat...

Re: Damn that blower gone again.
Heater blower in a Volvo 240 has same kind of standard high-power resistors without any thermal cut off as stock, so it's most likely a design issue with the soldered unit like Ride_On stated aboce.

Re: Average cruising RPM for 360 GLT
My GLT is about the same with 3,64 diff and 185/60/R14 tires.
Our GL with 185/65/R14 and 3,27 diff had about ~2600rpm @ 100km/h.

Re: Light wight flywheel
That's not a B200 flywheel!!!
That is for B18 and B20 engines, which are all iron OHV engies used in older Volvos like PV, Duett, P1800, Amazon, 140 and early 240... Totally differen't engines than B200 and B230 series redblocks.
