Re: White 340 1.7 Martini

Thanks for a good advice, Mac. As usual=))

Can you recommend me what are the top 3 reasons for loose steering?
I want to order some parts to fix most usual causes before i can get to somewhere where i can diagnose it

Re: White 340 1.7 Martini

Thanks a lot, guys. Your attention is very important to me. Success story: i made it to the track day. So the engine was assembled and put inside the car with reasonable efforts because of polyurethane engine mounts. Engine run good but clutch disc was not disengaging properly. As if it seized on th...

Re: White 340 1.7 Martini

Ok, guys, it's time for an update. So breakup didn't go well and i didn't touch the car for half a year. Then i decided to continue with it and with help from my friends took the engine out. https://img-fotki.yandex.ru/get/4008/5852728.4/0_f3d46_8ede1abe_M.jpg https://img-fotki.yandex.ru/get/15486/5...

Re: What engine do i have ( 1.7 DL 1987 )

i checked the pictures and brackets for the pulleys differ massively between the versions. not sure i can interchange them. So i guess 125 teeth belt is my option?

Re: What engine do i have ( 1.7 DL 1987 )

Hi guys, i'm on the final stage of assembling my engine and need an advice. So i bought spare volvo 1.7 engine from 4xx. cam belt was 125 teeth. Then i had to fit this engine with my old crankshaft and head with camshaft from earlier volvo 340 1.7 which had 124 teeth. when i tried to fit new 124 bel...

need advice on milling exhaust manifold flange.

HI guys, need little advice on milling the manifold flange on my 1.7 So i welded the crack on exhaust manifold of the first cylinder. On the flange, there is a 1-2mm gap between the flange of the 1st cylinder and the plane for the rest of the flange. Which i think tore the tube apart by bending it o...

Re: 1.7 crankshaft bearing sizes

I could not find bearings in stock by volvo's partnumbers so i bought bearings from Renault f3n. seems to be the same, also with locks as the ones that went out of new engine. STD for block and +0.25 for connecting rods, and STD for half ring thrust washers. will report after installation. the hard ...

Re: 1.7 crankshaft bearing sizes

i wish i were.
Spare crankshaft is now at machine shop. they'll try to machine big end bearings to first undersize and main bearings to what they think necessary.

Re: resurface cylinder head on 1.7

Hi again, i think i'll ask in this same thread:

I found oversized pistons from renault. On paper, they are the same by all measures except for the gudgeon pin. It's not floating design, but fixed.
What do you think, is it worth to try them?

Regards, Andrew.
