Re: 1981 340/343
There's rumblings of "a 300" which belongs to a mate of a mate. Might be a 340, I've not followed it up yet. If it's a minter, let me know and I'll pry further.

Now, without doubt many will say "rubbish I've run my 1978, 79, 80 on unleaded and never had a problem! - and no doubt many have - for a while. Generally your car will run fine on 95 octane unleaded, you won't hear the high speed pinking (the sort that you can't hear but erodes piston crowns,) and ...

I might have one lying around that you can have. I might need it back one day though or a similar replacement But I imagine that'll be years down the line.

Alright alright, I'll do one. I'm Mark, I live in Bristol. I like old cars... http://i.imgur.com/gepNzDNl.jpg I have an illness with 300s - even at the moment in my period of "owning other stuff" I still keep eying up 360s on ebay. I've got an interest in a local one too, belongs to a friend of a fr...

Re: To self repair or not to? that is the question
I've found using Krust rust treatment and then when painting using zinc primer is a good makeshift seal - this usually lasts a good few years for me. I've not had to re-do any areas using this technique. Yet. Take the rust down to bare metal, Krust it, let it dry, use 3 layers of zinc primer and 5is...

Re: 1960 Volvo PV544 'The Mighty Quinn'
Really nice car, spotted it on your brother's facebook but didn't realise it had these nice touches to it. Looks like it's been improved over the years to make it even better than original. Good stuff!

Re: What have we been up to?
940 got some track treatment, ended up blowing up a rad and heater matrix. Was rolling around with no matrix for a while until it got unbearable and replaced it. A job I never want to do again! Fitted an electric fan to be used when doing skid pans (low speed). Sigma got a Facet pump, new lines and ...

Volvo 440s came with a metal one, they're not liable to break like these ones. See if you can find one in a scrappy.

Sorry to hear about your health issues, it's nice to see that you have a positive light on things as ever. Cats are fascinating. Even as a dog person I really do warm to the cats in my area. This article popped up earlier in the month: http://www.independent.co.uk/news/science/cats-recognise-their-o...

Re: Volvo 340/360 louvre for sale
This relies on nobody else making replicas - if you did make them for a short while it's likely one of the other guys making stuff for 300s will continue to manufacture them. It's a choice between never owning a Louvre or making replicas and everyone owning them.
