Hi Jon,
Of course! It'd be grand to see you (plus friends). If you could let me know within a few days, that'd be excellent.

Good luck with the sale! Looks great. Got plans to list it on eBay, etc? Environments like that (and classic auctions) seem to be where the buyers with big money are lurking.

Re: 1986 360 GLEi SE restoration and turboing
This is the pre-filter I'm talking about. I need to find my spare original (so will measure it when I do!), but I suspect it'll be ~10mm ID, as it fits 12mm hose.

Re: 1986 360 GLEi SE restoration and turboing
My only slightly worry with some of these is...how thin is the centre bore? If the originals are for 12mm pipe (9-10mm ID on the unions?), I'd not want to go too thin with any adaptors.

Re: 1986 360 GLEi SE restoration and turboing
I know it's a bit of a threadjack, but hopefully it's all useful info. Yes, that's what I was thinking (in terms of how to deploy the Facet filter). Interesting point about using an angled outlet. The original filter is straight, of course, albeit with one side (the outlet) off-centre (but not angle...

Re: 1986 360 GLEi SE restoration and turboing
OK, that's good to know. I may have made holes in my transfer pipes without good reason then, but I'm not too upset, as they were plainly very tired, and I don't imagine there will be any harm done (at least in the short term). I couldn't get anything softer through the pipes, BTW (tried various thi...

Re: 1986 360 GLEi SE restoration and turboing
Yeah, I think it'll be fine as long as there's plenty of fuel in the tank. I was trying a coathanger bent at various angles yesterday. I poked it through both sides of the transfer pipe (i.e. radius both too wide and tight, at various times), but it's like it hit a brick wall in the middle. The pump...

Re: 1986 360 GLEi SE restoration and turboing
Cool, thanks! That's 12.7, so I can rest easy if it worked for you. Next question (again, one for yourself and Tony)...how stupid is the internal plumbing of the tank? As far as I can see the swirl pot and connecting hoses must have been assembled prior to the two halves of the tank being welded tog...
