Re: intermittant headlights
Thanks for the info, I think they are therefore the same 4 relays which are behind the binnacle! That upside down position is also necessary when you replace the clutch pedal to cable connector. The production 340 part was prone to split so the part supplied by Volvo Parts is an upgraded one. Friend...

Re: intermittant headlights
hi
that's most helpful. Where exactly are the bulkhead connectors you refer to? I recall you posted before about a poor earth behind the dash as giving our car some probs? There are 4 relays behind the binnacle but Im not aware of ones in the drivers footwell.

intermittant headlights
Hello everyone! Not been here for a while for posting due to work pressures but hope everyone is well and their 340s are doing well too! My friends 340 1.7 is doing as follows and I was wondering if this was a common fault or is the a common known fault or cause? Basically, when the headlight are on...

Re: Automatic gearbox
I've though about this before but arent sure there is adaquate room behind the bellhousing for a gearbox if it were installed as per the 240, 740 etc. with some bespoke mounts maybe one could be mounted where the gearbox usually sits at the back? A bespoke gear linkage would also be needed. regards S

Re: Can air mass meters be overhauled?
Hello Since my friend got his 360 with this fuel injected setup I've also been wondering about refurbing the AMM concept ie is it possible? If the green books give the range of outputs from the AMM that's pretty helpful for checking and also possibly commissioning a replacement of sorts. If the trac...

Re: Leaded or unleaded?
anyone know why the Volvo green books seem to show the AT (CVT?) as having a more advanced map than the MT cars on unleaded.
I'm guessing AT = Auto transmission. Any other suggestions?

Re: Diesel Conversion
hi Really you need to compare the B18 family blocks to the D19. Presuming the B18 blocks and the B172 are the same? I might be able to help with that as Im removing a D19 from a 440 in the next few months and also have a B18 family 1.7 block for comparison. The fact the D19 and the B18 are mounted d...

Re: Diesel Conversion
hi I've also looked into this but the 400 series diesels are a different shell to the petrol models. Mod is the on the front right wing as the diesel engine 'hangs' from that mount. I think the gearbox is also held differently to the petrol models. Havent seen the D19 removed from a car but I suspec...
