Re: The Battleship,Williams, highs and lows!

Mine is definitely lower at the back...I'm in no rush to drop the front, as I think it'll help in getting the power down when I get the new engine in...Intuitively that seems to make sense, but I could be wrong.

Re: Manta!

I was shown this by a mate in Germany whilst discussing Mantas. It's a clip from a german film, 'Manta Manta': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yznp_vWoKGQ It's not really dialogue driven, so it's not a problem that it's in German. A rough translation: The girl says 'I'm too hot' At the end, the pursu...

Re: Speedy88's The Tardis: Got any gear?

Also, is that patched with stainless? What gas are you using?

Edit: I only ask as I'm relatively new to welding myself, and not sure what gas would be best to use or even if it's possible to weld stainless to non-stainless!

Re: Brake Upgrade

Wheeeeeeey it's fixed! Turns out that swapping the Servo and master cylinder did the trick.... I THINK it was the push rod thing in the servo that actuates the master cylinder being adjusted wrongly. Used a different servo though rather than just adjusting the original. It works now. The brakes are ...

Re: Brake Upgrade

I've been testing this a little bit. The brakes work well. I'd been having ongoing problems with the brakes sticking, (before and since the caliper change) and I've finally discovered what's been causing it! Something to do with the servo.... Went for a drive today. Got back, and the brakes were bin...

Is it rude to ask whereabout in the north east you are? That area's turning into the stronghold of the 340 community!

Re: Brake Upgrade

Everything's running sweetly now. Except the car, as I'd left the ignition on for 3 months. When the chuckle brothers retire/die, I'd like to audition for the replacement. http://i103.photobucket.com/albums/m153/tommysb/volvo/brakes/P1000010.jpg Caliper and Disk On the strut http://i103.photobucket....

Re: Brake Upgrade

After re-bleeding, removing the caliper and moving the pistons a bit, it no longer seems to be sticking to much. I think the caliper had just seized due to not having been used in so long. I' have to take it apart to fix a wheel stud, but the brakes SHOULD be ready for testing today.

Re: Mistakes when/after working on your car?!

I managed to gradually nudge the car off the jack it was supported on today, so it fell with about a 30 cm gap between it and a wall. Luckily, I'm small enough to fit in those sorts of gaps and managed to sort it out. After arseing about with my brakes all day today, finally got them behaving themse...

Re: Pic Request - 300 with a roof rack.

Hmmm.... I think that one of John's roofrack setups might be unsafe... After a bit of investigation it appears he's using a 'Paddy Hopkirk Universal Luggage Deck' on his roofbars. According to the well known (and frequently visited by myself) website 'roof-rack-supplies.co.uk': "Universal Luggage De...

Re: Brake Upgrade

Hey adam,

It's a standard 300 hose, seems to work ok, the connection on the caliper is similar enough to that on the 300 caliper. They seem to be bleeding correctly....
I've ground the caliper just to clear where it was just fouling on the disk, but it's not gone through anywhere.

cool mate, will give this a go tomorrow.

What's the effect of doing this? Bleeding the master cylinder?
