Re: pair of dogdish flywheels - wanted!

That's probably true Speedy, 740s had the same gearboxes but the early ones had motronic, which has a little pin sticking out at TDC, and 2 crank position sensors. I have a lightened dogdish here which has had all its marks machined off, as it was run on an OMEX system with separate trigger wheel. M...

Re: Another one point seven to save

Oh man! Somebody jump on this asap! It's still legal to drive home if you day insure it. Fix the grubby bits, machine polish the paint, hey presto you have yourself a £7-800 car for buttons. I'm terminally skint, who wants to have a whip round for me to buy it, fix it, then split the profit  :l...

Re: Another one point seven to save

Mac, I don't suppose the seller could get some photos of the corrosion failure areas? One man's "excessively corroded" is another man's "5 min fix with a mig". It's probably too far for me, I'd have to exploit the 'driving it to a test centre' loophole in order to get it home. Beside that, I'd need ...

Re: pair of dogdish flywheels - wanted!

AFAIK they don't need to be turbos, just any 240/740/940 with a lambda sensor but not the M90 gearbox. If you find some let me know because I need 2 myself.
Actually, are either of those DMFs in near perfect shape? I might like one for my 945 seeing as a solid one is hard to get.

Yeah I'd still like a manifold at some point. Short runners like that, and massive trumpets

Re: Volvo 760 parts

If you could mate, I'd be desperate enough to come and collect it haha. Is it the 88-on type with the different wiper setup to a 940?

Re: Volvo 760 parts

Thanks but I'm pretty much resigned to forking out BIG DOLLA to get it sorted. Maybe I can scam my insurance company though.

I'll be making rent and that's about it. The unslotted A is sold (to Mike Suter), and the H is in the final stages of negotiation.

CAM you believe it?! Redblock cams for sale.

LONG TIME NO SAY NOWT. Having a bit of a garage clearout, I found I had more than a few spare cams tucked away. Here they are: http://i115.photobucket.com/albums/n298/filthyjohn/DSC_0101.jpg From left to right; H,A,A,A,T, then an intermediate shaft to drive the block mounted dizzy (this is only of u...

Re: Nimminz' LSD GLT Daily - Part 2 - Turbo fitting

It turned out I'd left about 0.5mm too much material on the bellhousing. It was all fitted back up so I took a file to the CPS bracket instead. I took a fair bit off but left the brass bits intact so it still lines up lovely.

The oil outlet is a plain pipe with a bolt either side and a gasket.

Re: renault Energy??

The energy is the successor to the C series found in the 1.4 340. It almost certainly has a different bellhousing pattern to the F series engine.

Re: Nimminz' LSD GLT Daily

Thinking about it, why not ditch the 'T' shaped ends and fit a more convential steering UJ or straight clamp? It would really help with downpipe clearance.
